news.
Officials have declared a major outbreak alert after a fungal
infection spread through a medical research facility. Quarantines are
in place, but health officials urge citizens to report any appearances
of mushroom-like growths appearing on their skin.
In a bizarre coincidence, this infection is believed to have been
first contracted and brought back by Igor Ivanoff, famed adventurer,
and inspiration for the character on NBS' recently canceled, yet
beloved "Mysterious Earth" radio serial in which a similar infection
was seen. However, rather than the preposterous Hollow Earth, Ivanoff
was on a mission to Antartica, where he discovered a strange Martian
meteorite that may be the source of the infection.
The researchers currently working on studying the infection hope to
publish details soon in Realms of Mars.
