Just to start: a copy of an eamil thread between me and Brian.

Greg Wynn and I were reminiscing about ToH last Friday. It was an
entire dungeon of pain. So bad. Soooo bad...

That should be fine. I imagine several people went through them at
one time or another. I was mostly concerned as to whether someone
else had recently run them as a kitschy campaign.

Ahhh… Tomb of horrors. I believe that was the first module I went
through in Advanced D&D.
I just remember some mummies and some kind of bada$$ magic sword being
somewhere.

I've played or run all of those modules, but it was at least 25 years
ago, so I feel confident in my ability to not remember a single
thing. Now if it was Tomb of Horrors...

Yeah. That was back when many adventure modules were created with the
express goal of killing the party.

SomethingAwful's 'WTF, D&D?!" feature took on the Tomb of Horrors a
while back. Enjoy!

I really enjoy that feature in general. I will never forget how much
I laughed at the second installment of the 1st Edition Monster Manual
review, where they went over the Morkoth. "This guy is great. He's
perfect for any adventure in the lightless abyss at a depth that would
crush modern submarines as long as it takes place inside Morkoth's
lair that he never leaves."
