Not that anyone in his right mind plays paladins anymore, but it might
be important to establish this question: am I correct in reading into
this page that the Silver Flame is the new "deity" of Paladins,
post-Grandel?

Without getting into what Rich would clearly have to say regarding his
aspects of the setting, Paladins are potentially a lot different in
core Eberron in that they are loyal to their particular church more so
than to a particular god. As for the Silver Flame, it is certainly the
most geared toward the stereotype Paladin what with their tendencies
towards zealotry and the like. I actually think the Sovereign Host has
the makings for better Paladins given that the core tenet of the
religion is to absorb all other faiths into itself not outright
destroy/conquer. I think this lends itself to smarmier, more diplomatic
aspects that almost never get played with the class.

Grandel and the silver Flame are the Religeon for "Classic Paladins"
Though any religeon can and do have paladins (Much like Rich pointed
out). The primary difference being that Silver flame doctrine has a
stronger "Anti undead" focus than Classic Grandel Paladins.

And it should be noted that grandel paladins and SilverFlame Paladins
often intereact seamlessly and with much comeraderie.
