Example: I work at home with my girlfriend, and when I open my laptop, I disconect her connection, then we are starting to click like crazy the reconnect tab at the wifi, we lose smtg like 10-12 min doing it before it really works.

Please clarify what ESET product you purchased and installed. Is it ESET NOD32 Antivirus, ESET Internet Security or ESET Smart Security Premium? The first one doesn't include a firewall so it cannot affect other than http/https network communication.

download eset internet security

Does temporarily pausing the firewall make a difference? If so, please run the Firewall troubleshooting wizard to find out if a desired communication has been recently blocked and unblock it, if necessary. Also check Known networks in the advanced setup and try configuring your network to "Trusted network" instead of the default "Use Windows setting":

There is also a similar problem. Norton 360 was installed, in March, after changing the provider, Wifi connection disconnects began. I uninstalled norton. But his removal was not enough. After deleting, I got the Wi-Fi connection disconnected again. I will clarify, the removal was done through "uninstall or change a program". After the removal, I did not use a special tool to clean up its possible remnants in the system...
(By the way, each disconnect (and re-enabling Wi-Fi) was accompanied by an event "DNS Event ID 1014" in the windows 10 log)
Searching for DNS 1014, I saw this post -ru/windows/forum/all/ошибка/162b360f-8ca2-4c33-9d1f-03f4a8497e30, uninstalled the wi-fi adapter driver and ran a series of commands:

I would update the drivers of the wireless adapter and then if possible update the firmware of the router as well. Of course if the router is a third party bought by yourself you'll be left to the support of the your isp for this.

If you have purchased the license just recently, it should be possible to ask for a refund. When you or somebody else encounters an issue that you are unable to resolve, I strongly recommend opening a ticket with the local ESET distributor so that developers can check logs and other diagnostic stuff necessary to determine the root cause of the issue.

What about users who don't have the tech savvy to find out about providers DNS, let alone how to resolve this? ...probably a long convoluted communication with support..sigh...and so much for theEset reviews about how easy this was to install and run...

Ok, well I purchased Eset Internet Security for 5 devices (1 windows and 4 android). Set up Eset Home ok. Started adding devices, got interrupted by family, when returned to pc had lost the connection. After that tried to continue with installation. Had issues not being able to install on main windows pc as wouldn't connect to eset when trying to install.

So left that and installed via google play on 2 android tablets. Since then when browsing/using internet on the tablets, getting intermittent dns errors so can't use internet, this can last from a few seconds to minutes before it connects ok. What is likely to be the issue?

none of the other employees by phone or those who came to my house, to replace the ONU equipment (converter from optics to ethernet) , they did not talk about it, everyone was leaning towards a bad wi-fi connection

The first randomly generated mac address did not work (there were problems), it turned out with the second one. Everything is fine now, there are no mistakes. What I understood from the conversation is that there is some kind of binding by mac addresses...(long story). There were no such problems on the old provider, but on the new one, they appeared immediately.

Hello, as the title says I'm upgrading my AV to internet security from the normal AV the people who work here in this country just told me to "Renew license" with my new keys I found this a bit strange since there is "activate product" right next to it, not sure if he is right or a bit confused.

I just figured out that I am not using ESET home feature while was looking for info about the renewal, the thing is if I'm not using the laptop its always closed anyways that's why didn't really put much emphasis on it, is it any good/useful ?

Unfortunately it's not clear what you are referring to, a screenshot could clear it up. If it's your local distributor's e-store, please contact the distributor if you have any doubts or if something it not clear.

ESET Home will make managing your license easier. For example if your computer dies and you buy a new one to put ESET on the new one you would either require buying a new license or contacting support to deactivate your old broken computer. With ESET home you would just login to your account and click deactivate on your old computer. Which is much quicker than having to call support to do it for you.

I haven't ever allowed ESET EIS to install any chrome extensions. It did so without my permission. I would certainly not expect practices used by malware to be also used by the very software I use to defend me from malware.

I am still getting nightmare flashbacks to a terrible security blunder where EIS would open all internet banking webpages in a new browser window with hideous thick green frame, which would disable access to Google's password manager, encouraging users to use low-security passwords they can remember instead of high security generated ones, stored in password manager. That one also happens without any user permission, by default.

I am lucky Chrome actually takes security seriously, not automatically enabling any extension that get's installed by third party software. But it's not Chrome's job to protect me from stuff like this, it should be EIS' job.

Extensions are not installed automatically, browsers don't allow it probably mainly for security reasons. In order to install the ESET extension, one must click "Enable extension" in the notification:

Extension was by default installed, because your security solution was updated to the newer version (some changes are expected) and you have enabled browser protection. Extension wasn't automatically enabled, because it wasn't enforced, just offered (we respect your choice) and you still have full control to enable/remove it. If you want to remove it, use Setup > Security tools and disable Browser Privacy & Security.

Hi I am having problems using Edge and Chrome browsers, because of this new extension that was enabled in my browsers. The problem is that I can't navigate or do anything in the browsers. I already tried to do this: Setup > Security tools and disable Browser Privacy & Security. I restarted my computer and I still have the problem.

I have not been able to solve the problem, I still cannot use both browsers (edge, Chrome). I can't access the extensions of both browsers either. It is unbelievable that an extension that I do not authorize, is blocking me from using my browsers. This has me very frustrated because I use both browsers for work, and I have not been able to develop my activities in a normal way because of this problem.

It also automatically installed on Chrome for me today without my permission. To be clear, yesterday a prompt showed up asking me if I wanted to enable it or not. I did not click "enable extension" in eset and I disabled the notifications that showed up. Yet it still installed somehow today. This is unacceptable!

Having the same issue with MS Edge where it launches with crashed tabs and I can't access settings etc and disabling the script scanner actually fixed it. It also had installed by default without asking. Been spending a couple of hours today trying to get it working...

I've been having some issues for a while, where my internet will randomly craps out completely. Usually windows will give an error that the default gateway is not available. I've run dozens of virus checks and other attempts to see if it's anything malicious, but I haven't found anything remotely suspicious. I decided to check ESET's firewall to see if that was causing issues, and I found that when my internet craps out, I usually get 200+ (often over 300) instances of svchost.exe being blocked, in addition to various other regular programs (such as steam, System discovery, etc.). None of these programs seem to be doing anything malicous. I can usually restart the internet, and everything is fine. I've also noticed that when my computer exits it's screen saver it seems to do it as well, and I need to manually connect to my router.

I restarted all my firewall settings to default, even though I don't think I messed around with it too much, and it resolved the issue completely for about a week, now it's doing it again. I've attached a screenshot of the blocks it does as soon as I login after booting the PC, I will try to post another if I manage to get it acting up again. I've been meaning to factory reset my router as well, but none of the times I've done that has seemed to do anything to alleviate the issue.
