Patrol log, 4/25-4/26

Saturday 4/25: Nordic 1 (Martell, Alli, Helaina) patrolled to Mazama Ridge and lapped the back bowls.

Nordic 2 (Don, Hugh, Lexie, Ray, Jen) went "up" and topped out around McClure Rock and skied out through Deadhorse Basin.

Nordic 3 (Suzanna, Annemarie, Katja) conducted PSAR on the ramp. Notable interactions included lots of sunscreen reminders and assisting a visitor who had a large abrasion on his forearms from taking a long slide.

The first annual Nordic Patrol End of Season party was a huge success. Excellent weather probably helped. It was nice to see so many patrollers come out in small groups to ski during the day! Big thank you to Martell for doing the party shopping and to Don for manning the grill.

Sunday 4/26: We packed up and cleaned the Nisqually House before patrol. Kitchen items that never got unpacked this season were donated to the NH and we consolidated some bins. All gear is stored in the garage bay immediately to the right of the "recycling" sign in the Longmire garages. See photos of bay location and stored gear. I took NH towels home to wash. Annemarie took a few first aid bins home to restock and use for summer courses.

Nordic 1 (Suzanna, Annemarie, Katja, and Chris) conducted PSAR on the ramp. Notable contacts include assisting with a sick visitor, helping a lost kid find her dad, and telling skiers to walk, not ski, down the ramp.

Nordic 2 (Remo, Jen, Lexie, Deb) patrolled Mazama Ridge.

Radios and first aid kits were returned to Dan van der Elst at the end of the day.

All in all, a great weekend to end the season. Thank you to all leads for your dedication during this winter!
