Winter is back! We had a strong team that was able to get meaningful work done while enjoying the refresh of snow on low-angle terrain. One of the patrol vests has a busted zipper, so the next lead should count 27 of 28 vests, with one out for repair (also noted on the equipment checkout log). I will take it to Patagonia for their free repair service and will arrange for it to return to the patrol house. I will update via email after visiting the store.
The house also needs ziplock lock bags. A cleaning of the dish towels is also requested, however we still don't seem to have access to the washing machine.
Saturday: We split into two teams: one from narada falls and one from paradise. The Narada Falls team, led by Sean G, reset poles on Narada Falls -> Inspiration Saddle -> Reflection Lake. The paradise team started off crossing Edith Creek Bridge, which was treacherous, then made our way to Fourth Crossing and exited via paradise creek to the road. Kari/Helaina/Jodie then descended from Paradise to Narada Falls via devils dip to reset poles, and I picked them up at Narada Falls. Both teams were able to submit observations to NWAC. Pleasant powder skiing was enjoyed between tasks.
Sunday: We opted to travel as one team of 7 patrollers today. The LE's requested that we close off the Edith Creek bridge and put in a trail around it upstream. This was successful (see pictures). The public is now recommended to travel upstream to cross the creek. After the task was complete, the team enjoyed two pleasant laps of powder skiing on south aspects above paradise creek.
