3/30/2025 Nordic Patrol log

Had a slightly delayed start because of a SAR that ended very late Saturday night.  Began with multi-burial transceiver practice at Paradise, led by Denis and Terry...all victims located!  Nordic 1 (2 snowshoers + 1 skier) did PSAR at the ramp and then re-poled Devil's Dip down to Canyon Y + moved a short section of the path ~20' further away from stream.  Nordic 2 (3 snowshoers) did PSAR in Edith Creek Basin, confirmed that the bridge was still sketchy and still blocked with poles.  Nordic 3 (3 snowshoers + 1 skier) did PSAR in Deadhorse Basin; many Mountaineers groups present.

Afternoon power outage at Paradise / Longmire / Nisqually house, with generator backup (for at least the EOC) coming online after approx 1hr.

Returned cone to Paradise parking lot.  Finished day by confirming SAR cache inventory as well as radio and vest inventory.

Needs Attention: Devil's Dip sign along Stevens Canyon Rd by Canyon Y is missing.  We were not able to reset the Mazama Ridge pole.

Lesson Learned: Doing the transceiver group check immediately before the GAR seemed to work well.
