Saturday: Nordic 1 (3 skiers) reset poles from Narada Falls to Reflection Lakes, and got some sweet pow turns off Inspiration Saddle. Nordic 2 (2 snowshoers) set poles on the Devil's Dip route and did PSAR near Pan Face and the top of Deadhorse. Nordic 3 (2 snowshoers) snowshoed from Narada Falls to Canyon Wye, then checked the Edith Creek Bridge (still closed/sketchy) and conducted PSAR around Paradise. The only pole we didn't get to was the one on Mazama Ridge. The road was icy from the Nisqually entrance (opened to admin at 9, public at 10). Nordic 2 and 3 encountered a vehicle that went off the road during the drive back to the NH - no injuries and the vehicle was able to get back on the road after putting on chains. We had a great potluck with a few of the Avy class students, interp rangers, and winter techs.
Sunday: Road was closed to the public, so we did training and PSAR around Longmire. Colin was acting lead and will send a separate email with his report.
House: All kitchen and bathroom towels were laundered. The downstairs bathtub drains slowly - perhaps someone could bring some draino next weekend? No other supplies currently needed.
SAR bin: I took a picture of the inventory list on the equipment sign out log and will send out a digital copy to be printed and put in/on the bin at a later date. Our 5 new headlamps are in individual plastic bags with batteries in the SAR bin.
Radios: All are set to scan Paradise and Comm 1.
Vehicles: We had 2 trucks this weekend. Keys are on the desk. Nordic 2 and 3 had lunch with the plow drivers and learned that they appreciate when vehicles pull over when the plows are approaching during the drive to Paradise under admin traffic, even when not specifically directed to do so. Something to keep in mind if Nordic goes up alone without following the ambulance?
Sign in log: We are out of blank forms and will need more for next weekend. Does anyone have a blank copy? I couldn't one on the Google Drive.
