Saturday (Hugh)
Low visibility, coldish temps, snow, variable road conditions and low visitor contact. The road opened at 9AM but closed again for an hour between 9:30 - 10:30 to sort out a few areas after a car slid out. Patrolled to the top of Pan via Edith Basin conducting PSAR along the way..Contacted a group of young men at the ramp intending to ski to Muir and possibly the Nisqually chutes...subsequently found them off route directly below the cornice on the western edge of Edith Basin They skinned to the top of Pan and skied out.

FYI that I had to chase a bat out of the house. Additionally, I left some gear in the back of the Tahoe. Any reason why I couldn't drive up and retrieve it midweek?

Sunday (Lindsey)
Weather on Sunday was off/on for being sunny or snowy winter mix with low clouds and not great visibility. We need more blank copies made of the equipment checkout printed for the binder (there were no blank ones left to copy). The gas in the Tahoe was topped off before it was parked by aviation. Thanks to the rangers for letting us sit in on their medical scenario training at the Old Station!

It was pretty empty at the park and not busy. We went thru Deadhorse and did 2 laps on Alta Vista before heading back to the Old Station and observed a heart attack training scenario with the Winter Techs wand the 2 new general rangers that just started training this weekend (I can't remember their names). We worked on checking off some taskbook stuff at Old Station before heading back to Longmire to fill up the Tahoe.image0.jpeg
