Hello Leads and Lead Candidates,

Sorry that this is another lengthy email, please bookmark it and review it before your patrol weekends.

A few important updates. The sign ups are open on the iVolunteer website through the end of the season for only Leads and Lead Candidates for right now. Please use the password leadsignup to access the pages for the months of Feb-April. Please do not give this password to other non-lead patrollers at this time. Everyone will be given access in the near future, but I want to first give the opportunity for Leads and Lead candidates to coordinate signing up for dates before it is open to everyone.

The Park has requested that all Nordic Patrol Vehicles make sure to have the laminated red Nordic Patrol Cross/placard in the dashboard while in the Park. This is important for parking in areas like Longmire Campground overnight and going up on admin traffic, etc. As leads, please remind your patrollers in your pre-weekend emails that they need to make sure they have one (and chains in vehicle) if driving a personal vehicle into the Park. There were extra signs being passed out during the training weekend at registration, so hopefully everyone has one. There should be a few extras at Nisqually House if needed.

Even if the gate does not plan to open, you should still tell your weekend's patrollers who signed up to arrive as usual, unless we hear something different from the Park (Ed). Depending on conditions, there may be opportunities for Nordic Patrol to go up on admin and reset poles or do additional training at the EOC with a public gate closure or delayed opening.

As leads, please check the Roster to confirm that patrollers who have signed up your weekend have their Certifications updated and completed the Annual Training or make-up training. If you find that someone is signed up that is not current then please let myself, Suzanna, and Chris know.

I still have not heard anything from Ed or Dan regarding the vehicles and keys yet. Brian and Tom J, we will try to get you that information ASAP. However, it might not be determined until next week due to the holiday.

Priority for next weekend, December 7-8 weekend is getting the poles and signs placed.
*Reminder to only transport poles/signs/large equipment in Park vehicles, not personal vehicles!
There will be a few patrollers doing make-up training the weekends of Dec 14/15 and Dec 21/22 that have a different sign up option on iVolunteer with no bed guarantee. There is a possibility that a Jan/Feb make up date might be needed, but I'm waiting to hear back from a few people. More details will be sent to those involved with the make-up training after the board meeting on 12/10.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Lindsey
Patrol Director

As you can see, I have access to the PD account now... Hopefully it doesn't kick me out again.
