Hi patrol leads,

Here are a few updates and announcements. Please let me or Remo know if you have any questions.

New patrol lead: Please congratulate Martell Hesketh for successfully becoming a patrol lead! We now have 21 patrol leads.

Lead day requirements: The board voted to change the requirement for the number of days patrol leads are expected to lead. The new requirement is 2 lead days over the course of 2 consecutive seasons. This means you can patrol 2 days this season and none next season, and still be considered in good standing as a lead. Please note this is the minimum requirement and leads are welcome to serve as patrol lead for additional days, or sign up as a non-lead patroller. There are currently several lead-less weekends on ivolunteer, so please sign up for your days if you haven't already. We also decided to do away with backup lead days. Being the backup lead will no longer count toward the lead day requirement, but we encourage any patrol leads who are present during the weekend to help with taskbook signoffs, etc. Please let me or Terry know if you have any questions.

Patrollers with lapsed certifications: Before your patrol weekend, please check whether everyone who has signed up to patrol has current training certifications. You can do this via the roster or the taskbook.
  • In the roster, Column J shows everyone as "current" or "lapsed".
  • In the taskbook, rows 13-17 in each patroller's taskbook will show which certifications are missing or expired.
If a patroller has an expired or missing certification, they cannot patrol until these are up to date. If someone has signed up for your patrol and is not current, please either reach out directly to the patroller to ask them to provide their missing certification before the patrol weekend, or you can email me or Remo and we'll contact the patroller. Reminders have been sent to all patrollers who are currently lapsed, and they are also listed below:

Vehicle refueling: The process has changed a bit this year. There is a new lockbox on the fueling station. to get gas:
1. Unlock the new lockbox with the car key.  Inside are two keys on retractable wires. Use the one on the left.
2. Enter the PIN: 7023
3. When prompted, insert the key attached to the wire.
3. Enter the vehicle mileage.
4. Enter the pump number.
5. Fuel the vehicle.
No credit card needed and you don't enter the license plate #. Thank you, Brian, for these instructions!

Thanks for all the great work you do to keep patrol weekends running smoothly.
