This was the sleepiest day I’ve ever been to at the park!
As I was injured, my lead day consisted of just leading the morning meeting and debrief. The road opening was delayed until 0930. Albert and Pete headed up dead horse basin to the base of Panorama, and out through Edith Creek by the Myrtle Falls. They reported that visibility was very low, to the point that they needed to use their GPS to navigate in the white out. They also reported that Edith Creek had a lot of visitors on the golden gate trail near to the bridge, and that people were crossing the bridge.
Albert was able to send pictures of the bridge to MORA...@nps.gov, which goes to the interpretive rangers. Interp is GREATLY appreciative when we can share conditions on the Myrtle Falls as they get dozens of questions about that route every day. I recommend other leads share bridge photos/conditions reports to MORA...@nps.gov when possible; it’s an easy way for us to provide a lot of value to the interp departments.
No one has checked devil’s dip as of Sunday evening. Rangers had no specific work they are requesting tomorrow. House needs dish soap.
