Saturday: Warm and sunny conditions, with favorable slushy conditions. The road opened early around 8:15. Group one (with a guest patroller from Alpental) followed hundreds of visitors up the Muir snowfield, and turned around at 8k. Skied back down to 4th crossing through Edith Creek basin. Team two took to Mazama ridge, enjoyed the back bowls, and also came back through Edith Creek basin.

Sunday: Same conditions as Sat. Team one did roughly the same same thing as Sat. Team two started at Paradise, skied down to reflection lakes on the road, then went up to castle peak, ending at Narada falls (with a car shuttle).

Both vehicles were filled up.

Notes
  • The park has started clearing Stevens Canyon Road, which requires a road walk to connect Narada Falls parking lot with inspiration saddle poles. Budget extra time for that next weekend.
  • There are no more equipment sign out sheets. We used empty slots in the previous weekend's sheet. There was not a blank one to photocopy.
  • The Tahoe gas card has a bit of a bend in it, you might need to bend it the other way for it to work.
  • Allegedly the gate will remain open 24/7 starting Thursday
