Hi Don,
I was acting Lead that day and the report submitted is attached. A slightly updated version is included below for your convenience. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for doing this!
Jose
SAR 2 was on the Wonderland Trail near Cougar Rock. A 17 year old male had been walking with 3 others when he slipped and fell at 9:30AM. He walked a short while longer, then couldn’t walk any farther. Two of the patient's companions hiked to Longmire to summon help. The call came in just before 2PM. Nordic sent a hasty team to locate the patient "approx one mile" up the Wonderland from Longmire. The team was literally walking out the EOC door to hike up the Wonderland when Dan Jones called us in for the briefing, so they left immediately after briefing. Jose assessed the patient and called for a litter team. Nordic provided a lat/long for the patient's location. The remaining Nordic patrollers and all of TMR along with Kevin Dillon were then dispatched with the necessary gear. At about 1600h the patient was extracted via a wheeled litter and loaded into the waiting A89 for transport. Jose stayed with the patient in the ambulance until he was driven off the park for transfer after a full assessment.
