"Audio clips, initially on cassettes and later as MP3 files via Total
Recorder, became my proof of reception.
Today one's audio clips can be backed up with evidence from complete
Perseus or SDR-IQ captures. That makes these clips actually more
ironclad proof because the supporting spectrum recording shows all the
other stations in a big chunk of band at the same time, including the
locals, so it isn't likely that a "sham" claim can be made, unlike
paper that could have been based on a report developed from something
heard when travelling, from a distant buddy playing a local station
over the phone (or relaying program details via e-mail or mail), from a
station web feed, or from a remote web receiver.
So use audio clips with a good semblance of an ID, slogan, or interval
signal in them and have spectrum files including some locals to back
them up and very few of us would argue over how genuine the log is."
