Spatial Analysis of Urban and Regional Systems

9th World Congress of Regional Science
Timisoara, Romania, May 9-12, 2012
On the theme of Changing Spatial Patterns in a Globalising World

Call for Papers
I am pleased to invite you to contribute the best of your research
papers to multiple special sessions at the 9th World Congress
organized under the auspices of the Regional Science Association
International (RSAI) on May 9-12, 2012. The RSAI World Congress will
take place in the surprising city of Timisoara, Romania.

About RSAI
RSAI (Regional Science Association International) is the premier
international community of scholars interested in the urban and
regional systems, with a particular emphasis on regional impacts of
processes of economic and social change at local, regional, and global
scales. RSAI draw on multiple disciplines that look at the city and
the regional from a spatial perspective.

The Conference
Details about the Conference can be found on the dedicated website:

Topics of Interest
Special sessions focused on cutting-edge research in Geographic
Information Science & Technologies, Location Modeling, and Spatial
Analysis of Urban and Regional Systems will be organized. The
contributions will either emphasize methodological innovations or
substantive breakthrough on all facets of the socio-economic and
environmental reality of urban and regional contexts. Contributions
emphasizing the modeling of spatial-temporal patterns and processes
are particularly welcome.

Domains of applications will include, but not be limited to: land use,
housing, crime and education, mobility, quality of life, innovation
and knowledge creation, manufacturing, retail and services,
infrastructure.

Methodological perspectives may include: spatial econometrics,
exploratory spatial data analysis, optimization, GIS, geocomputation
and geosimulations, geovisualization, spatial decision making
analysis, spatial-temporal analysis.

Publication Plans
A selection of papers scheduled in the special sessions on GIS&T,
Location Modeling and Spatial Analysis will be considered for
publication in Computers, Environment, and Urban Systems, and/or an
edited book.
