I was afraid the cork-looking part of the shoe would be ugly and distracting, yet it somehow fades into the background when on the foot. I have several Pedros-all a dream to wear. I do not have any trouble with the velcro on any of his shoes. Very glad I got these in my usual size 5. "I have worn these three times. Each time I get compliments. I was sold on this shoe because the cork supposedly molds to your feet, creating a more comfortable feel. With that in mind, along with the great style, I thought it was worth the high price. However, after a couple of hours, I cannot stand the pinching on my baby toes. Not sure what to do about it. Someone else in the shoe business suggested that I might cut into the place where the toes lay, in order to create more room for them."
