These are the minutes form our last two call-ins that we collectively typed.

EDUTAINMENT-FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE MEETING 3/1

Attended: Julio, Melina, Steven

Agenda:

1) Introductions
2) Structure/Mode of operation
3) Planning/Resources
4) Timeline
5) Tasks

Notes:
2) Structure/Mode of Operation 
- Treasurer? Bring up during general conference call
- Money/reimbursement requests go through committee? 
- Create a groups account with non-profit status

3) Planning/Resources
- Will need promoters for event
- List of possible venues
Central Valley: Sol Collective, Washington Neighborhood Center, Plea for Peace
Bay Area: DeBug, Gilman, Burnt Ramen, Sub-Mission Art Gallery
Napa area: The Grange, The Phoenix, The Shop, Peace and Action Center
+ community rooms at our campuses
- List of possible artists: La Plebe, Mentes Diferentes, El Vuh, Sol Peligro, Nino Zombie, A La Lune, Dezu, Jokes for Feelings, Pop Bottle Bombers, + more
- Ideas for fundraising: organize a tour through out NorCal, compilation CD
- Outreaching: Facebook, fliering, form a street team, endorsements

4) Timeline
- Have an event after a meeting/mobilization
- Propose to coalition sometime in April

5) Tasks
- Melina will write up an email to send out to venues/artists by Monday/Tuesday (if possible before Sunday)

Notes:
1) Updates
- Coalition decided the treasurer should be from our committee
- If possible have an event before the April 8/9th mobilization to cover costs for permits, etc.

2) Planning
- March 19th "Activist Social and Spoken Word" event: Open mic with a feature poet, possibly music and food. We should pull people from the Ear protest and the Mecha meeting.
- March 26th Tabling/Selling at the 11th Annual Cesar Chavez March: face painting, selling buttons/tshirts/art, bottles/canned drinks. Since our tabling/vendor fee will be waived, we will donate some of our proceeds to the event, and will volunteer.

(These two smaller events will help provide funds for our April 8th Sacramento Action. We hope to do a bigger benefit concert after this--that will take more time)

3) Announcements
- March 11th ARE meeting in Sacramento
- March 14th contingent at the march in Sacramento
March 15th meeting on the CA DREAM Act
March 19th anti-war rally
- March 26th Cesar Chavez March

4) Tasks
- Melina: secure a venue in SF for March 19th
- Wendy: create the flier once the venue is booked
- Julio: create promo video for the event, fill-out vendor request form for March 26th tabling
- Steven: get us the vendor fee waived for March 26th tabling
