All,
3 items for today's update:
November initial event preference processing finished Thursday and most teams got their preference list satisfied! All of the teams that were not assigned to an event submitted a list of exactly one tournament!
Currently the registration for two of the November events is running very slowly. Please be aware that if events get canceled due to low registration, it will likely mean fewer teams have the opportunity to compete more than once!
We need to shift our expectations as a community! To play often, teams are going to need to compete early!!!
We are still working through finalizing Dec/Jan/Feb additional events. Watch the website for updates as they come!
There will be folks at the Playing At Learning offices from 1-4pm Saturday 10/11 and Sunday 10/12 assembling the field elements for the season. Additional help is welcome and will make the work go quickly.
If you are able to join, please drop me a quick note so that I know who to expect.
To prep, make sure everyone coming reads and understands the
field assembly instructions. I will have hard copies for each
group, but being familiar with the steps helps eliminate rework.
The manual can be found at: https://ftc-resources.firstinspires.org/ftc/archive/2026/field/initialfieldguide
Additionally, if folks have access to the tools listed in assembly
instructions, it would be great if they can bring them. I have
some tools, but more will help make sure we can parallelize the
work optimally.
We have two used AndyMark playing field perimeters that we would like to sell out into the community.
We are asking $400 for each perimeter . The perimeters will need to be picked up at our building during this weekend's field assembly sessions (10/11 and 10/12 1pm-4pm).
We also ask that teams that buy our used field perimeters be generous by being willing to bring the perimeters to tournaments for practice field use!
In the coming week(s), we will be adding info to the team status page that reflects the CA AB506 training/screening. This will hopefully help get everyone thru the screenings before status becomes a barrier to event participation.
After we get the status reporting working, we will be adding gating that will prevent teams from registering for events with out having fully cleared status!
That's all for now!
Good Luck with your robot builds!!!
