Festival Registration Requirements

Hi everyone,

We’re preparing to open registration for our annual Festivals. To keep everything on track, please complete the following requirements ASAP. Teams will only be able to register once these steps are done.


STEP 1 — On the FIRST Team Dashboard

A. Both Coaches: Complete FIRST YPP Requirements

  • Finish the Youth Protection Program (YPP) training and background check.

  • Accept all required consent forms.

  • Complete California AB506 requirements (Live Scan + Mandated Reporter training):

B. Lead Coach 1: Invite All Students to the FIRST Team Roster

  • From the FIRST dashboard, invite every team member using the Express Registration form:
    https://www.firstinspires.org/programs/youth-registration

  • Parents/guardians must accept the invitation and complete the release/consent.

  • Once the parent signs, the coach adds the student to the roster.


STEP 2 — In MyLumi

A. Both Coaches: Create or Confirm Your MyLumi Account

B. Complete the Team JotForm in MyLumi

  • Fill out the Team JotForm (found at the bottom of your Team Info page).

C. Verify Your Team Status = “Good” in MyLumi
Your team is marked “Good” when:
✅ Both Lead Coaches have MyLumi accounts (emails match FIRST).
✅ Both have completed all YPP screenings and consents (+ fingerprinting if required).
✅ All students are accepted on the FIRST roster with parent/guardian consent.
✅ The team JotForm is submitted via MyLumi.

Heads-up: FIRST data syncs manually about once per week. Changes can take up to a week to appear in MyLumi — please finish early.


STEP 3 — Registration Opens

October 28 at 7 PM for teams with “Good” status in MyLumi.

Festival registration will be announced on the NorCal FLL Explore Googlegroup for each new Festival.  


STEP 4 — Register and Add Optional Items at Checkout
  • When registration opens, select your Festival and proceed to checkout.

  • Optional add-ons (e.g., participant medals, extra trophies) must be added at the same time as registration payment.
    They cannot be added later.


STEP 5 — Confirm Payment & Watch for the Confirmation Email
  • Complete payment in MyLumi.

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email once registration is finalized.

  • Your Festival assignment updates immediately after payment.


STEP 6 — Day of the Event
  • A supervising adult listed on the team’s FIRST roster (with Release/Consent signed) must check in the team in person.

  • This adult can be a coach, mentor, or team parent —but must be on the roster.

  • Teams cannot check in or participate without an on-roster adult present.
