We are counting down the days to our November Qualifiers.

1.  FIRST Team Rosters must be final on the FIRST team dashboard by October 31st.  I will do one last "sync" after that and then will not update again until after November 18th (ahead of our Spring League registration that will open in December).

2.  FIRST Team Names must be correct and finalized in mylumi by October 31st  - just confirmed that changes that you might make on the FIRST Team Dashboard are not updating in mylumi (as of today).   Goto your team's info page and you can update the name there.

3.  We encourage teams participating in a November Qualifier to connect with local media outlets : newspaper / online / broadcast  to highlight the team and encourage people to learn more about FIRST and FIRST LEGO League Challenge. We have a TEMPLATE that you can use as a starting point and if you are successful, send us a copy and/or let us know.  We like to highlight our teams' media out on our social networks.

4.  We are excited to share an upcoming "Ask Me Anything" session with Schilling Robotics next week - Monday Oct 28 5pm pacific. Schilling Robotics in Davis, CA makes subsea robots!   REGISTER HERE   [yes this will be recorded like all of our season webinars - and posted on the norcalfllc.org Resources page]

5. Send us your team's JOKES - would love to have more teams submit a quick short video telling a joke - can be robotics, FIRST or even theme (ocean) related.   Send to ka...@playingatlearning.org    [and reminder, no full names of minors - prefer no name but first name is acceptable].  Here is a recent example:  Facebook, Instagram

6.  Finally,  wanted to share the final advancement information for teams.  We will have 3 Championships [dates TBD but between January-March]:   San Jose,  South Bay / Peninsula, and East Bay / San Francisco / Capital.   Qualifiers will advance to the championship based on the location of the qualifier - so for example, the Leland HS Qualifier will advance to the San Jose Championship. We will be advancing ~30% and the exact number per event size is:

All 12 team qualifiers - advance 4 teams
All 16 team qualifiers - advance 5 teams
All 18 team qualifiers - advance 6 teams
All 24 team qualifiers - advance 8 teams

7.  Need your help in connecting with Championship venues - particularly for the San Jose event.  If you need specs on what we are looking at in a location just reach out.    [And still looking for Spring League organizers as well....]

Thanks everyone - Jill
