Wanted to provide a summary of how the preference system worked.
Overall a very positive experience.
Out of our 554 teams, 326 teams entered preferences and a total of 246
teams were assigned into a tournament. 86.6% (213) of teams were
assigned their first choice preference. 8.1% (20) got their second
choice. 4.5% (11) got their third choice. Two teams got later
choices. We also had 6 teams that didn't get any of their choices -
mainly due to only selecting 2 (or 3) choices.
The remaining 80 teams did not get any assigned tournament due to not
completing the requirements (namely have a good team status, completing
their jotform and paying the registration fee) and will need to complete
these and register during the General Registration phase that opens on
October 9th.
Over the General Registration phase I will be watching closely the
overall tournament capacity. We currently have 378 total tournament slots.
The November 3rd tournament at The Play Space in San Jose was cancelled
(and I did that before I ran the preferences so no teams were assigned).
Several other tournaments over the first 2 weekends will shrink unless
we get alot more teams interested in registering.
I have reserved space in tournaments to allow for shrinking (if
needed) - but only in the first 2 weekends. None of the assigned
slots will be affected so don't worry about getting moved or losing your
assigned tournament slot. Be aware that reserved spaces could open up
as more teams register - so tournament status could change around.
