1. Loads of questions about Spring League vs Competitive
League coming in. I did cover this during the September
Rookie Coach Training (recording)
but went ahead and pulled this out as a separate
page on our local
website. If you are submitting preferences now that means
that your team is committed to attending a November qualifier in
the Competitive League. We do not have capacity for teams to do
both league seasons - so it is one or the other.
2. Reminder that there are 3 upcoming webinars for the
next 3 Tuesday evenings - Robot
Game specific, Judging specific, and Preparing
for Tournament. Each will be recorded and posted on the Resources page
on local website.
3. And just a fun update - we officially have more teams this
season than last season! We are sitting at 554 registered teams
and NorCal is the 4th overall largest region for FIRST LEGO
League Challenge in US/Canada - woohoo. [And with our friends in
SoCal & CentralValley, California overall would have more
than 10% of all FLL Challenge US/Canada teams!] We are not quite
up to pre-covid numbers but we do have plenty of time to
register a team and join in the Spring League - see #1.
4. Currently expecting to have 3 regional championships with
an advancing rate of around 25% with each championship
having 7 qualifiers that feed into it - San Jose; Peninsula/South
Bay; SF/East Bay/Sac/Inland. Final advancement numbers will get
published on / around Oct 19th when the general registration
closes.
5. And here is tonight's Summary of 1st-5th Preference
