to NorCalFLL-announce, NorCal FLL Challenge Staff

First off, for Spring League tournaments

We know that teams are anxious to get registered.   We are nearly fully confirmed on all the Spring League tournaments that we need - just trying to get the final couple fully confirmed. All tournaments will be in March / April. We don't want to open registration knowing that we don't have sufficient capacity for all of the teams as that can be frustrating for everyone involved.  Keep your fingers crossed that we can close on all of this over the next week or so and if you can help organize a spring league tournament, please email Cecilia at fll-ch...@playingatlearning.org

Now to our NorCal FLL Challenge Championships.  We are now fully confirmed.  [insert celebratory cheers]

NorCal Gold Rush Relics Championship -  February 22 event with setup starting at 2pm on February 21 at Kimball High School, Tracy, CA

NorCal Bay Area Bedrock Championship -  March 8 event with setup starting at 2pm on March 7 at Palo Alto  High School,  Palo Alto, CA

The championship.norcalfll.org website is mostly updated and most information is there now - this website will be the place for what to expect,  registration requirement details and more.

The registration Deadline for both is February 10th. Requirements are:

  • Filling out the Championship jotform    [this is NOT the same one that you filled out for your qualifier]
  • Have 2 adult team volunteers apply in FIRST volunteer system with background screening completed through Sterling Volunteers  [coming early next week]
  • Team registration payment completed through mylumi  [starting at 2pm today / Jan 31]

If your team has advanced but not able to attend the championship that you were advanced to,  you will be able to request a swap through the championship website.  More info

If your team needs partial help in paying, please submit a grant request  And if your team can help support others,  please donate an extra amount.

For our championships, it costs about $700/team to put on each high quality event and we have too few sponsors!
