All,
FIRST has acknowledged an issue that is affecting some of the team data that is available to partners - this issue is affecting all US/Canada partners, across all programs. We use this data to upload into mylumi. Basically the primary issue is that we are getting stale data. The latest update from FIRST is that this should be fixed by the end of the day tomorrow (Tuesday 9/30). We have been syncing with the data that is available every day which is some of the AB506 data and some of the roster data.
The FIRST data issues are not under our control - it is frustrating all around and we are trying to do what we can within the limits of what we are allowed to do.
We are required to use the official data from FIRST so emailing Playing At Learning your information will not work. We can only use the data that comes directly from FIRST downloaded from their official partner data site.
Here is what we are going to do:
1. We are delaying the current preference window CLOSING to Wednesday (10/1) at noon pacific - independent of the status of the fix.
2. We will continue to download FIRST partner data at least once/day this week - this is generally how often data changes. Occasionally a report will refresh twice in a day but we can not count on that.
3. If the fix comes in and works/clears the issues on Tuesday night as communicated, then we will move to General Registration on Thursday at 7pm pacific. General Registration is a first come, first served registration system that will allow you to select the events that have capacity. See this Tournament Registration overview doc - item 3 for more information about General Registration. [Note we do expect to add a couple more tournaments - still trying to get them all confirmed!]
4. If the fix does NOT clear the stale data issues, then we will be adding a 2nd round of preferencing which will close 24 hours after a fix is in place. And then we will open General Registration after that. I will send another update if we are heading down this path... Everyone keep your fingers crossed that we don't have to go down this path....
As a reminder, FIRST is reporting that it can take them
up to 5 business days to update your team and individual status
with regards to the Overall California YPP clearance (aka AB506 -
webpage with
more details). And then, we have seen in general (ignoring
the current issue), it can take up to 3 days for that data to
become available to partners on their partner data site. So just
seeing the information on your team dashboard does not mean that
we have immediate access to that update - it can still take days
before that data makes it way over to the partner data site (yes
amazing but true).
