If you or you know of others that have not done the LiveScan fingerprinting as yet for the California Law AB506,  the FIRST Robotics Competition organizers have arranged for a very low cost provider  ($20) to be at their FRC competitions throughout March to midApril.    The schedule for the remaining events is:

March 21st:

Sacramento: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Pleasant Grove High School 9531 Bond Road Elk Grove

March 28th:

Pinnacles: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Hollister High School 1229 Monterey Street Hollister

Central Valley: 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM

Buchanan High School 1560 N. Minnewawa  Clovis

April 3rd:

Contra Costa: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Pittsburg High School 1750 Harbor Street Pittsburg

East Bay: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Berkeley High School 1980 Allston Way Berkeley

April 11th

CALIFORNIA NORTHERN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP : 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

The Cow Palace Arena & Event Center 2600 Geneva Ave. Daly City

Importantly Livescan fingerprints are not transferable - each agency must have its own Livescan done (crazy that this is the way that California set this up)....  so even if you have already done a LiveScan for a different agency/school/organization, you must do this explicitly for FIRST.   Note that this is for FIRST as the agency and not Playing At Learning.

For AB506, you will also need to complete the Mandated Reporter training available at https://invite.mandatedreportertraining.com/FIRST    It is best if you register with the exact same email address that you have registered an account with FIRST.  If you used a different email address, instructions on how to share your certificate with FIRST is available at https://www.playingatlearning.org/ca-ab506/

We are recommending that volunteers complete the AB506 requirements even if they do not hit the monthly (16 hours) or yearly (32 hours) limits outlined by the California law.  This is a great opportunity to get the fingerprints completed as a very reasonable cost.

Thanks, Jill
