Opportunity to Join Foothill College Physics Shows
Hello,
I’m excited to share some great news!
This September, we’ll begin producing our extremely
celebrated, 19th annual
Foothill College, Physics Shows... a dynamic program
that will reach more than
18,000 students throughout the year. Each performance
is packed to capacity, with a minimum of
800 students (and school admins) per show. The
performance during the week, are presented to Title 1, school
age students, whom we invite, free of charge to enjoy learning
about STEAM and especially learning about "Physics!"
The morning shows are produced in the Smithwick Auditorium.
Upcoming Dates
Each day we’ll welcome about
800 students (grades 3–6) for
presentations scheduled from approximately
11:30 AM to 2:00 PM (likely starting closer to noon).

More about the Physics Show:
The Physics Show is a great event at Foothill College. It
brings in local students of all backgrounds; and in fact, a
number of the shows are dedicated to bringing in students from
low-income, Title I schools. Many of these schools would not
go on a field trip this year if it wasn't for this
opportunity. Frank and David raises money through the years
to pay for buses, put on The Physics Show, to give the kids a
tour of our beautiful campus, and give the kids a free t-shirt
and to provide lunch for 850 students per day.
Bringing Title One Schools to
The Physics Show
In addition to putting on the weekend shows, we do all the
weekday shows FOR the local title one schools, of all
backgrounds, which are the students we will develop the
"Pysics Show" next week. We provide bus transportation, The
Physics Show, a tour of our campus, lunch and a T-shirt. All
at no cost to the school. Annually over 4500 students
attended. If you would like to contribute to this cause, all
donations are appreciated and tax deductible. Here is a link
to the Foothill-De Anza Foundation, a non-profit that handles
our finances. Thank you.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, please
let me know, we’d love to include you in this exciting event!
NOTE:
The Physics Show is an educational and
interactive event founded in 2007 by Frank Cascarano and
David Marasco two Foothill physics instructors. Magic meets
physics meets entertainment, making physics fun and
approachable for children of all ages.

Overview
Our cross-sector coalition envisions equitable access to
quality STEM mentoring opportunities in Silicon Valley
building empowerment and career success one student at a time.
We will do this by aligning and growing resources to support
high-impact, mentor-led STEM learning opportunities at key
points in the K-20 pipeline. The coalition will provide space
for the community to troubleshoot challenges, celebrate
successes, and combine resources to accomplish together what
can be difficult for any one organization
The Possible Self is an Extreme STEM Expo for Middle School and High School students
featuring interactive presentations by exclusive and
hand-picked group of organizations, companies, and
visionaries, who aim to empower and inspire kids about careers in science, technology, engineering and
mathematics. Our hope is that these events will
ignite student’s curiosity through, experientials,
storytelling, and live demonstrations.
