Mission Briefing:
Miss Black calls for a briefing once you reach Zhongshan’s orbit.
“Okay, commanders, here’s the situation…” she starts as you settle in. “The Fifteenth Lyran Regulars have been here for the last two weeks fighting the First Falcon Swoop Cluster–the same unit we fought against back in October of last year. They’ve secured the drop port and capitol, but there are still Falcon forces scattered across the main continent and we’ve been tasked with hunting down some of the remaining stragglers.”
Miss Black taps a few keys on her computer terminal, bringing multiple satellite images up on the briefing room display. You see some light clan mechs at the Duke’s estate.
“Intel from the Fifteenth suggests a light binary of clan mechs is holed up at the Duke’s estate. They’re probably trying to lie low until they can get an extraction. Our goal is to take them out before they can exfil.”
Miss Black taps a few more keys to bring up some diagrams and specs.
“This won’t be like our last engagement with the Falcons. These mechwarriors are desperate–they’re fighting to survive. They won’t be interested in honor duels. Don’t underestimate them just because they’re in light mechs either. A Locust IIC will tear you apart if it gets behind you and some of the other units I’ve identified carry armaments equivalent to most medium inner sphere mechs. Watch each others’ backs, don’t get complacent, and this should be an easy mission. Dismissed.”
