Mission Briefing:

Great X LCAF Supply Depot Offices

The screen in the briefing room shows a mugshot of an obese man with a shaved head and extensive facial tattoos making an obscene gesture at the camera.  The name ‘SplatZap!’ is written on the placard he holds with his other hand.

“This, commanders,” Miss Black says with a tone of mild exhaustion, “is SplatZap!.” 

“His real name is unknown and he’s been a career pirate for decades.  I had the misfortune of encountering him while on assignment in the LCAF Mercenary Troops Liaison Department a few years ago.  I worked with some mercenaries on the outer edge of the Commonwealth near the Periphery to capture him, but it seems he still has his talent for escaping confinement.”

Miss Black turns from the screen to face all of you.  “This man is dangerous and not to be underestimated.  He will use unorthodox tactics and equipment to surprise and confuse opponents, especially those who don’t take him seriously.  I can’t tell you exactly what to expect, but the XO was able to get some rough intel on some of the forces the locals have encountered so far.  Make sure to review it.”

The image on the screen changes to a map of the Great X supply depot.  “Our assignment is to defend this supply depot.  We’ve been assigned to the ammo dumps, but may need to flex into other areas of the depot depending on what happens.  Ensuring that no more supplies fall into SplatZap!’s hands is our primary objective, but if you’re given an opportunity to kill or capture him I expect you to take it.  The area around the depot is lightly forested, and relatively flat, so you may be able to ambush him if he tries to go after the ammo dumps. Good hunting out there.  Dismissed.”

Questions: What are those boxes on the northside? Are they doors to the ammunition depots, or are the medium buildings the ammo depots?

It sounds like this group has encountered Splat!Zap! before. Is there a dossier we can reference directly?

Any intel on which direction Splat!Zap!'s forces are coming from?

The boxes on the north side are the ammo dumps.  Each ammo dump building has been covered in meters of dirt and sand, effectively turning them into level 1 hills with entrances on the south sides.

While Miss Black has encountered SplatZap! previously, AA as a whole has never fought him before, so no additional intel is available--Miss Black will tell you that his forces were completely different when she encountered him a few years ago, noting that pirates frequently change/upgrade equipment based on what's available.

You anticipate that SplatZap would approach from the north, since the rest of the supply depot lies in the other directions.

At present, Battle Armor have a 2.5x multiplier on their tonnage for calculating deployment tonnage.

Thus, a standard-sized squad of 4 troopers will take 10 tons of deployment tonnage.
