Thispage shows all available cheats in Manhunt. They are activated by a button or keyboard combination. Cheat codes cannot be used until they are unlocked. To unlock the cheat codes, players must earn a five star rating, which is only possible on Hardcore difficulty mode, in each pair of two consecutive scenes. Players can only enter the unlocked cheat codes in the main menu. When a cheat code is successfully entered, the name of the Cheat is display on the bottom of the screen.
Once the player put in a cheat, the game disables the saving progress feature. It is possible to save the cheated new star ratings, players has to disable the cheats that they have enabled by entering the cheat codes again. Once all of the cheats are deactivated, the player choose any Scene to save, e.g. Born Again because it is the easiest Scene to do. Players find a Save Point hit, pause the game and the saving feature is reenabled.
To unlock cheats, most of which you have to complete scenes for with at least 3 stars, but for a few certain codes you must finish the game on Hardcore difficulty with 5 stars in every level (as Fetish only gives up to 4 stars). The codes will appear on the Art Panels as you complete each 2 consecutive scenes, split into two parts each for one cheat. To turn them on once unlocked, enter the full codes at the main menu screen. If you enter them correctly, you will be notified by the Painkiller sound effect (except for God Mode, which is silent). Inputting the same code again will turn the respective cheat off.
God Mode: Cash becomes invulnerable to damage. However, he can still be disoriented by being shot from a Tranquilizer Rifle. The health meter also becomes red (this only occurs in the PC release, as the PS2/Xbox versions remain green).
Invisibility: Enemies will no longer spot Cash in the open. Note the code does not mean Cash is actually invisible; Hunters still chase and attack him when alerted, and the Tramp/Journalist will continue as normal.
Fully Equipped: Cash will automatically and usually be armed with a certain weapon of every Class from within the level to allow the player to gain an advantage against Hunters, and if it is a firearm, it will have maximum ammunition (except for any guns requiring over 100 rounds such as the Nail Gun, Assault Rifle or Sub-Machine Gun). A few scenes will make Cash have weapons unavailable or cut from said level.
Helium Hunters: All Hunters' voices are comically sped up to simulate being in helium gas, and will explode and die instantly (but won't be dismembered from the blast) anytime they take damage, similar to Gasoline Cans/Canisters. Cash and the Tramp/Journalist are also affected, and with the exception of Cash himself (who still takes normal damage), will indeed explode when hit. If groups of enemies are close together and one is killed, a domino effect chain reaction can be seen. Executions will continue as normal. Note that explosions will potentially kill the player at close range, so it is not recommended to use this code in scenes where melee weapons are required in combat. The cheat's name is somewhat of a misnomer during gameplay, as helium, like nitrogen, is actually a non-flammable gas and therefore not combustible; This means Hunters blowing up upon impact strongly implies they are also being in hydrogen or other highly explosive natural gases such as methane or carbon monoxide.

The following codes have no effect until you complete both levels with five stars. Each of the codes have two parts, which are unlocked by a specific level (for example the end of level 1 & 2 with at least a three star rank) on the game art that appears.
Enter these codes on the main menu.
Clear the game on Fetish Difficulty. Save the cleared game and enter DOWN, DOWN, CIRCLE, UP, SQUARE, TRIANGLE, SQUARE, R2, UP, UP, L1, TRIANGLE on the title screen. The the game cannot be saved if this code is enabled.
As an added bonus, earn a five star rating and each piece of art will have half of a code on it. Combine the left bonus' code with the right bonus' code to get the cheat. Cheats can be entered on the title menu.
On "White Trash", when you see the crane just through the first double gates, hide by the wheels of the crane and throw the lure. A Hunter will come along--when he turns, execute him. After this, hit the bag-like-thing behind the crane and hide between the wheels. When the Hunter turns, execute him and repeat this until no more Hunters come.
Successfully complete the game on the "Fetish" difficulty setting, then press Down(2), Circle, Up, Square, Triangle, Square, R2, Up(2), L1, Triangle at the title screen. If you entered the code correctly, the message "God Mode" will appear at the bottom of the screen. Note: The game cannot be saved while this code is enabled.
Use the following trick to save the game while in God mode. Enable the God mode code, then finish a few levels with a three star rank or higher until you get a bonus level (Hard as Nails, Brawl, ect.). Then, play one of the bonus levels, die, and quit. This will reset the codes you enabled. Next, play any easy level and save at one of the check points. You will keep all the stars that you have earned with the cheat codes.
Getting a five star rank
Play on the "Hardcore" difficulty setting and either do lots of gruesome executions or get lots of kills, and finish the level as fast as you can. Also, be stealthy and avoid confrontations as much as possible. Fist fights or ruined stealth opportunities make you lose time and lower your ranking.
To finish off Piggsy, after you stab him three times go up the stairs and lure him onto the grate at the top level. The grate will bend the first time and he will run away. Lure him back upstairs and onto the grate for a second time and he will fall through. Make sure that you are also not on the grate or you will suffer a similar fate as Piggsy.
Early sawed-off shotgun in Born Again level
After you are let out of the execution room, you will soon find yourself in a basketball court where you have to defeat several gang members that are sent out after you. There is an opening in the fence around the court where you will see a posted sign reading "Vote Congressman Matthew R. Dione for Willington Mayor". Under the sign in the tall grass should be a sawed-off shotgun.
Bonus item in Mouth Of Madness level
In this level, you must kill the smiley hunter on the tower and bring his body to the guard room. Kill the hunter on the tower and make sure to cut off his head. However, do not bring his body to the guard room (just his head). An intermission sequence will show you entering the guard room with only the head. Starkweather will say "For bringing this head I will leave you a little gift in the next location". Look around for the unknown item.
When a victim is on the ground begging for his life and before you finish him off, hold R3 and start attacking. The camera angle will then show a partial close-up view through the eyes of the victim, with you swinging away.
In many instances a foe can lose his head in one of the death animations, such as baseball bat level 3 or wire level 3. If you smack a downed opponent in the head, their head will basically explode. If you have severed their head prior then go to smash it in, it will still explode as if the head were still attached to the body.
Manhunt is Rockstar North's highly creative and controversial game for the Playstation 2 console in which you play as James Earl Cash, a death-sentenced criminal redeemed by the snuff film director Lionel Starkweather. You are his pawn, the star of his newest film. These films aren't your everyday movies, though. They are brutal reality films appealing to viewers who have a taste for excessive violence.
As James Earl Cash, you have to battle your way through streets, junkyards, malls and madhouses against gangs who have one goal -- to hunt you down. Your only advantage is stealth, your only weapon what you can steal off fallen hunters.
Starkweather communicates with you through a small earpiece, directing you from one objective to the next -- all designed to provide his audience with the most gore possible. He praises you when you kill often, and he gets angry when you spend too much time sneaking around. His bloodlust is almost as intolerable as his incessant bickering about your performance.
Cash makes his way through Starkweather's obstacle courses by staying out of sight and out of sound of the hunters. Whenever Cash hides in a shadow, an icon on screen turns blue indicating that any hunters who pass by can't see you. A small radar screen shows where nearby hunters are lurking, changing from idle yellow, to cautious orange, to aware red, displaying whether the hunter is unaware of your presence, cautious of your presence, or aware of your presence. The radar indicates how much noise you make when you take an action. If a hunter hears you, even while you are in the shadows, he may become aware of your presence.
The snuff kill is the main feature of Manhunt. It is brutal, it is controversial, but from a design perspective it is genius in its simplicity. Cash makes kills by sneaking up behind his opponent, locking on, and then waiting in suspense to make the kill. The mechanic works like this: while Cash is locked on and in range of an enemy a meter appears around the enemy. At first it is white, then turns yellow, then red. If Cash gets impatient and makes a kill while the meter is white, the kill is quick, efficient, and mildly bloody. If Cash waits until the meter turns yellow, the kill comes with more creative fervor. If Cash waits until the meter turns red, the kill is dramatic and brutal. This mechanic adds volumes to the stealth feel of the game, and builds suspense. The longer you wait behind an enemy, the better the chances of getting spotted by a nearby hunter, or making a mistake.
