Armed Car Jacking - 2700 Block of Canal Street

On Saturday, August 14, 2010 at approximately 2:00 AM police were
dispatched to Canal Street and South White Street to investigate a
possible car jacking.

The victim advised the officers he was sitting in a parking lot in the
2700 Block of Canal Street when he was approached by two unknown black
males. Both were wearing white T-Shits, blue jeans, and red baseball
caps with the letter “C” on the front of them.

Both male subjects produced black semi automatic weapons, pointed the
weapons at the victim, and demanded
he get out of his vehicle or they would shoot him. The victim exited
the vehicle and the suspects fled
down North White Street and to Bienville Street in the vicitm's black
1999 Chevy Suburban.

Officers canvassed the area and located the stolen vehicle parked in
the 2600 Block of Conti Street. The vehicle was unoccupied at the
time. The vehicle was returned to the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
