Murder Investigation - 2600 Block of D'Abadie Street

New Orleans, LA – Members of the New Orleans Police Department are
investigating the apparent shooting death of a 17-year-old male and
the apparent shooting of a 17 year-old male. The names of the victims
are being withheld pending notification of family members. The
offense occurred on August 11, 2010, at approximately 2:30 P.M., in
the 2600 block of D’ Abadie Street.

According to investigators, First District officers responded to a
call of a “male shot” and upon their arrival, found two victims
suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to their bodies. Emergency
Medical Technicians transported the victims to a local hospital where
one victim was listed in stable condition and the other victim later
died.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the suspect
exited a silver or gray Volkswagen and began firing, at which time
both victims were struck.

Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and
information to identify the person(s) involved in this incident, as
well as a motive.
