Purse Snatching - 100 Block of South Lopez Street

On Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at approximately 7:40pm , officers
responded to a report of a Purse Snatching in
the 100 block of S. Lopez St. Upon arrival the officers met with the
victim, stated she and a friend were walking on S. Lopez towards Canal
Street when they were approached by an unknown black male who grabbed
the victims purse and fled up S. Lopez, then left on Cleveland, then
unknown.

The victim and witness stated the subject said nothing to them at the
time of the crime . After briefly
canvassing the area where the subject was last seen, the victims
identification, debit cards, and the purse itself which was located a
trash can on Cleveland Street.

The officers with the manager of a local business, located in the
block
where the incident took place. Security video footage showing the
purse
snatching was obtained.

Dark complexion, white pants, black hat,
Height : 6 ft. 0 in. Weight : 165
Age Desc. : UNKNOWN
The incident is under investigation.
