I do realize this is not in the First District, however someone may
have information on this incident.
Homicide Investigation -
New Orleans, LA - Members of the New Orleans Police Department are
investigating the stabbing death of a 21-year-old local male. The
name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family
members. The incident occurred shortly before 12:00 P.M., in the 5400
block of Royal Street.
According to investigators, Fifth District officers responded to a
call of a “stabbing” and upon their arrival, located the victim lying
inside of a residence suffering from an apparent stab wound to his
body. Emergency medical technicians transported the victim to a local
hospital where he later died.
Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and
information to identify the person(s) involved in this offense, as
well as a motive. Homicide Detective Scott Rodrigue is in charge of
the investigation.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and his
girlfriend were involved in a domestic dispute and resulted in the
victim being stabbed. No charges have been filed against the victim’s
girlfriend at this time; however, the investigation is ongoing.
