Superintendent Serpas Reports the continuing Success From Newly Formed
Task Forces

New Orleans, LA – Superintendent of Police Ronal Serpas announced the
results from the newly formed Task Forces and Narcotics Units within
each district. These results are from July 25, 2010 thru July 31,
2010.


The First District Task Force Units investigated 261 new complaints,
arrested 28 adults and 2 juveniles for 11 Felony, 28 Misdemeanor, and
5 Municipal violations. They conducted 125 traffic stops, issued 33
citations and made 13 traffic arrests. They had 1 curfew violator,
made 200 pedestrian contacts, and 38 field interviews. They made 4
narcotics cases and confiscated Marijuana. First District Narcotics
Unit made 17 cases and arrested 16 persons for 6 Felony, 3
Misdemeanor, and 8 Municipal violations. They investigated 25 new
complaints, 2 hot line tips and wrote 7 reports. They made 6
narcotics cases, executed 4 Search Warrants, made 20 pedestrian
contacts, 13 field interviews and confiscated Crack, Powder Cocaine,
Marijuana and seized $718.00 in cash.


Second District Task Force Units investigated 261 new complaints
resulting in 30 persons arrested including 2 juveniles for 11 Felony,
28 Misdemeanor, and 5 Municipal violations. They conducted 125
vehicle checks issued 43 citations and arrested 13 individuals. They
investigated 4 narcotics cases resulting in the confiscation of
Marijuana. The Narcotics Task Force Unit executed 4 Search Warrants
investigated 25 new complaints and 2 hot line complaints. They made 6
narcotics cases, and confiscated Marijuana, Crack, and Powder
Cocaine. They conducted 5 vehicle stops, issued 1 citation made 20
pedestrian contacts and 13 field interviews.


Third District Narcotics and Task Force Units investigated 187
complaints arrested 28 adults and 5 juveniles for 1 Felony, 26
Misdemeanor and 6 Municipal violations. They conducted 112 traffic
stops, wrote 103 citations and made 37 traffic arrests. They had 7
curfew violators, wrote 40 reports, conducted 3 wanted checks, 101
pedestrian contacts and 114 field interviews. They made 1 narcotics
case and seized crack cocaine.


The Fourth District Task Force Units investigated 126 new calls,
arrested 32 persons for Felony, Misdemeanor, Municipal violations and
confiscating Marijuana and pills. They conducted 63 traffic stops,
wrote 8 citations and made 1 traffic arrest. They made 186 pedestrian
contacts and 35 field interviews. The Fourth District Narcotics Units
arrested 7 persons and made 11 cases, 1 Felony, 8 Misdemeanor and 2
Municipal violations. They conducted 19 vehicle stops, issued 1
citation and wrote 12 reports. They made 27 pedestrian contacts, made
4 narcotics cases and confiscated Marijuana and Heroin.


Fifth District Narcotics and Tasks Force Units investigated 140 new
complaints and 1 hot line complaint. They made 8 Misdemeanor, 1
Felony, 6 Municipal, 1 Juvenile arrest and 4 Curfew Violators. They
made 48 pedestrian contacts, 34 field interviews, wrote 16 reports,
made traffic stops and issued 40 citations. They executed 2 wanted
checks, 2 Search Warrants and confiscated Marijuana and Crack Cocaine
throughout the district.

Sixth District Task Force Units investigated 142 new calls, arrested
29 persons for 7 Felony, 27 Misdemeanor, 10 Municipal and 4 Curfew
Violators. They made 17 vehicle stops, wrote 4 citations and made 4
traffic arrests. They made 10 new Narcotics cases resulting in
Marijuana, Crack Cocaine, and Heroin being seized. The Task Force
Narcotics Unit arrested 8 persons for 7 Felony and 1 Municipal
violation. They executed 2 Search Warrants and investigated 5
Narcotics cases resulting in Crack Cocaine, Marijuana and $1,464.00 in
cash in being seized.

Seventh District Task Force Units investigated 189 new complaints
arresting 5 persons, resulting in 17 cases involving Felony,
Misdemeanor and Municipal violations. They had 45 pedestrian contacts
and 183 field interviews. They conducted a Search Warrant, wanted
check, and confiscated 4 guns, Crack Cocaine, Pills, Marijuana and
seized cash. The Narcotics Task Force Unit investigated 5 new
complaints and 2 hot line complaints. They arrested 6 persons and
made 4 Felony and 3 Misdemeanor cases. They investigated 4 Narcotics
cases resulting in the confiscation of Marijuana, Powder Cocaine and
seized $949.00 in cash.



The Eighth District Task Force Units arrested 9 persons resulting in 1
Felony, 3 Misdemeanor, and 7 Municipal violations. They made 105
pedestrian contacts, 108 field interview checks, conducted 27 vehicle
stops, issued 16 citations and investigated 242 new calls. The
Narcotics Task Force Unit investigated 124 new calls and 4 hot line
tips. They arrested 9 adults and 1 juvenile resulting in 3 Felony, 4
Misdemeanor, 2 Municipal and a Curfew violator. They investigated 3
Narcotics cases, conducted 12 vehicle stops and wrote 4 citations.
They made 35 pedestrian contacts, conducted 22 field interviews and
conducted 22 wanted checks.



As a result the Narcotics and Tasks Force Units investigated
approximately 2400 complaints. They conducted approximately 10 Search
Warrants, investigated 76 Felony cases, 606 vehicle checks resulting
in 319 citations and 57 Narcotics cases. They confiscated guns and
numerous grams of Crack, Marijuana, Crack Cocaine, Powder Cocaine,
Heroin and Pills.
