Aggravated Battery - Cutting - 1900 Block of Poydras Street

[First District]

On Sunday, August 8,2010 at about 2:30 am, police, reponded to an
aggravated battery by cutting. which took place in the 1900 Block of
Poydras Street. The victim drove to the First District Station to
report the incident.

The victim stated she was inside of Club Envy. The victim while
inside the club she entered the restroom. A female identified as,
Ramona Jefferson walked in behind the victim. The victim and Ms
Jefferson used to work together. Once inside the restroom Ms Jefferson
started to make comments and threats toward the victim.

The victim exited the rest room and advised her friend she was
leaving becasue of Jefferson. As the victim left the club Jefferson
and six other females exited the club behind her.

The victim got into her vehicle and as she was lcosing the door,
Jefferson grabbed the door. The altercation became physical when
Jefferson grabbed the victims hair and and attempted to pull her from
the vehicle. Jefferson produced a beer bottle and struck the victim.
The victim stated she put her right hand up to defend herself at which
time the bottle broke and cut the victims hand.

The victim was able to shut her door and flee the scene.
Jefferson ran to her vehicle and proceeded to follow the victim. The
victim stopped at a traffic light located at North Claiborne and
Poydras Street, Jefferson jumped out of her vehicle and approached the
drivers side of the victims vehicle. Jeferson beat on the window.

As the victim attempted to get away from Jefferson she struck a
parked vehicle. The Eighth District handled this accident.

The victim was able to get the license plate from the vehicle
Jefferson was driving, (TGX879 LOUISANA). The vehicle was not
registered to Jefferson.

The officers observed the victims hair was out of place and also
a cut to the palm of her right hand.

This investigation is ongoing due to lack of information on the
perpertrator (Jefferson).
