Car Jacking - Annette Street and Marais Street

[First District]

On Saturday, August 14, 2010 at approximately 10:30 pm, First District
Officers were dispatched to
the intersection of Annette Street and Marais Street in reference to
an armed robbery.

Officers learned during the armed robbery, the perpetrator took the
victims vehicle keys then took the victims 2005 Black Chevrolet Monte
Carlo Vehicle, and fled the scene.

The victim stated she was in the process of parking her black
Chevrolet Monte Carlo at the intersection of
Annette Street and Marais Street when she was approached by a black
male subject who displayed a gun and robbed her. The suvbject is
described as a young black male with long dreads, a thin build, clad
in all black clothing, armed with a black semi automatic handgun. The
subject stated "Hey shorty let me get those keys out ya". The victim
immediately handed the vehicle keys to the perpetrator who entered the
vehicle and fled the area.

Three passengers who arrived with the victim were interviewed and
witnessed the armed robbery. All of the witnesses corroborated the
victims statement. There were possible leads developed in this
incident which are being investigated.
