On August 8, 2010, at approximately 12:05am, police responded to a
shooting in the 1700 Block of Marais Street. Upon arrival officers
located the victim who was shot in the his right foot.
The victim stated he was standing outside talking when several shots
were head. The victim stated the shots appeared to be coming from the
St. Anthony side of Marais Street. The victim and his friends ran
toward St. Bernard to avoid gunfire. The victim stated while running
he felt pain in his right foot and discovered he was shot.
The detectives canvassed the area for any witnesses and the friends
who were talking to the victim and met with negative results. The
victim stated he did not know his friends names.
Several shell casings were located next to 1734/1736 Marais Street
(vacant house).
