Armed Carjacking - 11-18-2009 - Suspects Arrested

On Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 at around 11:50 A.M., the victim was
stopped in his vehicle at the intersection of Montegut Street and
Mirabeau Avenue when he was flagged down for directions by a group of
four unknown b/m subjects, one of whom pointed a black "sawed off"
shotgun at his head, removing his money, credit card and keys to his
vehicle before ordering him out of the vehicle; all four subjects then
fled in the victim's vehicle. Responding officers spotted the vehicle
nearby and attempted to stop the vehicle; a brief pursuit ensued,
which ended in the 4300 block of Lonely Oak Street when the
perpetrators crashed into a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Two of the
four perpetrators attempted to flee on foot, but were apprehended
after a brief foot pursuit. All four perpetrators were arrested and
charged in the above offense, as they were positively identified by
the victim as the perpetrators. The arrested suspects were: Joshua
Daliet (B/M 07-23-1992), Matthew Lewis (B/M 11-17-1992) a known 16
year-old juvenile and a known 15 year-old juvenile. The shotgun used
in the carjacking was also recovered by the officers.
