What is a task pane and what does it usually contain?

It's been a long since the last time I used Zekr (currently I don't
have firefox to use swt library). Do you mean the bar on the left
that contained search and information about current aya? (the pane,
browsers use for things like history?)

Is there something that cannot be done in current toolbar?
Well, I'm by no means a GUI kind of guy (actually I usually turn off
the bars). Maybe that's why I think keeping the UI cleaner is better.
But I have to admit many (most?) users feel the other way and rope now
is much more usable than without the bars you suggested adding and to
a bigger group of users :-). Thanks about that.
So I prefer patches for GUI features and they will be applied
(provides they can be turned off). Otherwise you have to convince me
that the feature is needed (but I'm usually convinced easily ;-) ).

Brother It is the best option a Qur'an viewer should have. It is much useful.
For example, I am reading an article and it says that " Al-Rahîm: The Compassionate is mentioned in
these ayas (1:1; 7:156 & 33:43)". Now, I want to check each aya to see in which order it contains
it. So If I want to check the 7:156 aya, I will have to first go to 7th sura and then 156th aya. It
takes much time. But on the other hand, if we have a task pane having two fields one for aya and one
for sura and a go or show button, It will be so easy to go to a specific sura and aya. And we can
also have search options, surah info options, etc. in the future. I hope you understand, but it
still belongs to you whether you want to add it or not. A software is to provide ease to the user,
otherwise, I can also read the holy Qur'an in an html or doc file. But, I will not have the options
which a software provides.
What's bad about goto sura and aya commands?

Search: Without indexing, searching all suras might take much CPU (I
think zekr uses lucene). But searching only the current sura can be
done. But a task pane might not be a good location for it.
Sura info: Some already shown in the status bar.

I've added a task pane, anyway ;-)
Maybe instead of a task pane a temporary command area can be added to
the end of the window (above or under the status bar). Commands like
goto sura, aya, search and others can use this location instead of
using a separate dialog (or having an option that decides which to
do?).

Currently shell.sf.net seems to be down; I'll push the changes to as
soon as it is fixed.
