This configuration is used to speed up the process of reloading, since a loaded magazine is attached to the one in use. Disadvantages include an increase in the risk of stoppages due to the exposure of the rounds and magazine lips to dirt (particularly if the second magazine is inverted), possible loss of ammunition, and that the extra length of two magazines together can raise the profile of a soldier in the prone position.

To counter these drawbacks, some manufactures, such as SIG and Heckler & Koch,[1] have designed magazines with studs and cradles which permit extra ammunition to be carried parallel mated in an upright position without the need for tape or clamps.[1]

The practice of "jungle style" magazines originated in World War II for the M1 carbine,[2] M3 "Grease Gun",[3] and Thompson submachine gun.[4] Audie Murphy, one of the most decorated American combat soldiers of World War II, was reported to have utilized taped M1 carbine magazines.[5]

Thompson submachine gun users frequently taped two 20-round magazines together to speed reloads and compensate for the limited capacity. This spurred official development of the 30-round Thompson magazine, which included the experiment of welding two 20-round magazines face-to-face (dropped in favor of the 30-round magazine). The United Defense M42 submachine gun was occasionally issued with two 20-round magazines welded face-to-face.[6]

Taping magazines together in order to speed up reloading became so common among troops using the M1 Carbine that the U.S. military experimented with the "Holder, Magazine T3-A1", which came to be referred to by some infantrymen as the "Jungle Clip". This metal clamp holds two M1 Carbine 30-round magazines together without the need for tape.[7]

I was suprised just how easy these clips are to use. We just to clip them onto our Urban Jungle frame and the capsule just slots in, and is easy to push the safety buttons to release. We swap between the Mountain Buggy Protect and the Bassinet, depending on whether we want our baby to lay flat and sleep, or just transfer him for shorter outings and keep him in the capsule. Each have their own clips and we've found it super easy to go between them.

Recommended by a fellow parent to use a travel adaptor for our protect car seat and buggy, it's been incredible discovering how convenient this simple thing is. I had no idea how stressful it was going to be waking up our baby to move from her car seat to the buggy (or vice versa) - then trying to get her to sleep again :( it was a problem we never knew we would have! NOW with this adaptor, we can simply unclick the car seat from the car, and go straight onto the buggy... without waking her up. TOTAL lifesaver - thanks Mountain Buggy!

The year is 2023. Raves are back. Low polygons are cool again. The world still sucks. It is only natural that video game soundtracks inspired by the Jungle and DnB club scenes of the Y2K era are what you should be listening to in these seemingly accelerated times.

One of the most classic and recognizable fighting games of all time. A pretty hardcore game in both gameplay and presentation. I picked Street Fighter III: Third Strike as the first example because it draws the perfect line in the sand for when video game music stopped being just video game music and it started sounding like anything else you would hear at the club during those times.

The soundtrack for all three Street Fighter III iterations were composed by the same person, Hideki Okugawa. Being a member of the Capcom Sound Team for many years, he also worked on the Darkstalkers, Resident Evil, and Dead Rising franchises. Real Capcom OG.

With the release of his 1996 album, Sumo Jungle, under his own label, Far East Recording, Soichi Terada was already an accomplished member of the Japanese club music scene when he got the gig for Ape Escape. He had a habit of going Jungle, DnB, and House music shows until he found inspiration for sounds he wanted to recreate for the game. Time Station is a great example to represent the emerging sound of this era:

Fun Fact: June Chikuma studied many different styles of Arabian music composition, and maintains the website arab-music.com, in which she keeps a log of all the music she has done for the Bomberman games.

As it often happens in pop culture, the nostalgia for better times makes us listen to older music in a new way. We are noticing a community of artists, DJs and curators defining the boundaries of the sounds that make up this modern resurgence of the genres. With any emerging group of artists playing around with the same library of sounds, a scene of fans is sure to follow.

LEVEL SELECT is a clear indicator of where the jungle and DnB video game music resurgence is headed. Pizza Hotline is creating completely original music directly inspired by the PS1 era video game soundtracks.

The Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market is a popular destination at weekends, the Thai Fighting Fish Gallery has a cafe (and nice garden) and Bangkok Tree House features a restaurant (Reflect) with locally-sourced organic Thai food. In addition to these two options, you will find food stalls along paved roads and you can picnic on the lawn at Sri Nakhon Khuen Khan Park.

Despite its relatively sheltered status, Bang Krachao is threatened by new real estate projects. When last I was there, I noticed crude layouts for new (and wide) roads, precursors of more urban planning at work. I also noticed many new Thai-style McMansions. It would be a shame for this green paradise to be destroyed by corporate greed (once again).

If you feel inclined to add your voice to the Big Trees Project to help preserve this unique jungle in Bangkok, please check out their Facebook Page or talk to your friends about Bang Krachao so that local authorities realize how unique this area is for tourists. If anything, money is a great motivation to do (or not do) things and a thriving tourism business in a city jungle sure beats new suburbs.

May i have a question? Do they have a bike with child seat? I read the above bit it is still not clear to me ;-) they did not have when your daughter was 5. Have they had now?! As my daughter is 2, i really care about this. Thank you so much.

The Jungle Book is set to trounce the competition at the box office this weekend, but before the Jon Favreau-helmed film is released, let's take a look at all of these goodies Disney has put out. There are new "Kaa" and "King Louie" clips, behind-the-scenes footage showing how the film and its score were made, and three featurettes: "Legacy," "The Voices," and "Visual Effects."

Based on Rudyard Kipling's timeless stories and inspired by Disney's classic animated film, The Jungle Book is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who's been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan, who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he's ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera, and the free-spirited bear Baloo. Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don't exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa, a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie, who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire.
