With the introduction of 12-year Basic Education next year, high school and college admission in Taiwan are undergoing seismic changes. You may have heard some stories about using PISA ( Programme for International Student Assessment) as entrance examination or admission lotteries.
We are pleased to introduce two speakers to address some of the frequent asked questions by homeschooling families: Can homeschooled students attend high schools or colleges in Taiwan? How does the new policy effect homeschooling students in Taiwan? How will homeschooling students apply for high school and college admission in Taiwan?
The first speaker, Tim Chen, is the organizer of Taiwan Homeschool Advocates. He is an Advisor to the Ministry of Education on the 12-year Basic Education policy. The 2nd speaker is Dr ZHAN Xun Jun whose son has been homeschooled since Grade 3 and is now reading history at Fujen Catholic University. Dr Zhan is an member of Taoyuan Education Bureau's homeschooling review board.
