editor note: I have played this game and it is very good, the weapons, the destruction physics, the amount of hotels all just add to the greatness of this game I reckon everyone try this game I have tried it and it is one of my favorite games.

When I first saw the trailer for this game I thought of it as a must-buy. When it came out & I saw the price I thought of it as a must-wait. The game went on sale recently thanks the the NA store VR sale so I picked it up.

No one had completed the trophy set yet so I took advantage of my non-completionism & played until I'd fulfilled the requirement for the all-infamy challenge trophy no one had earned and what do ya know, it popped

In fact I found it quite puzzling that no one earned that trophy but there were earners for the $1,000,000 damage trophy because after I had completed the game & all the infamy challenges I wasn't even at the halfway towards 1 million damage. I found a way to quickly grind the damage. If you get the black hole weapon & throw it in the middle of either the first or third hotel you can make 20-30K and be out before or just after the maid gets to the door. Took less than an hour to get half a mil this way.

For the most part the infamy challenges were easy. Some of them require a bit of setup or are made much easier after buying certain weapons or enhancers/modifiers & it's best to do the 15 you find easiest first to beat the game then focus on the other 15 post-game.

The one challenge I saw as a bit of a roadblock is the clich challenge from the second level. There's a way of doing this that makes it easy, I found it's possible to take a dose of relaxin & throw the tv into the pool without alerting the staff which gives you time to set up the 10 smaller items. I recorded a video of my successful run but note I accidently broke a lime-half on the wall while walking it over to the balcony which alerted staff so I rushed to the balcony and threw the 9 items I had there without even looking. It somehow all worked out. If I hadn't tossed a barstool into the pool after the TV earlier on I wouldn't have made the 10 items. It was a sloppy clear, but at least demonstrates the setup:

Also should mention I played standing up. The controls are a bit awkward and take some getting used to and the tracking can be very much the way move controllers tend to be if ya know what I mean. I started off playing sitting down & ended up knocking a beer over one session so besides the slightly better ability to control things standing up also has the advantage of positioning you away from your beverage. I do recommend having a bit of a drink for this game to get in the spirit of things.

Did I mention once you get used to the controls the game is really enjoyable? Should probably mention that. It's pretty therapeutic and if you've had a bad day/week/year the potential to cheer you up is there. The 100% took about 7-10 hours IIRC & I was having a blast smashing things and walked away feeling great. I stuffed around a little bit so it's possible the trophies could be done faster but probably would take the fun out of it a bit. Just make sure you're focused on those infamy challenges & it'll all get done in good time.

I noticed with the play all party setlist trophy you don't actually have to participate or set a score in all the stages but it's not that passive because even if you choose to AFK this you still need to use the move controller & move the headset around to start the next round.

Just want to mention two more fiddly infamy challenges. For the stack 3 tables on top of each-other it's best to move all the chairs away from the tables first & note that if you break one there's a 4th table resting against the wall that can be turned over.

For the bowling trophy one I didn't bowl but threw it halfway down the land from an overhead position. It's important to note that when you do get a strike you'll have to run to the end of the lane to grab the trophy. If you don't the trophy will be locked if you leave the bowling alley which happened to me & I had to get a strike a second time.

Alright that's it for now. Just wanted to let people know this trophy set is very much achievable & the game is a blast! Difficulty can be compared to the trick shots in accounting plus & if you're comfortable in VR and don't mind experimenting to get the throwing angles right you'll have no issue with this.

this is my first forum post here. I just wanted to thank you for your mini-guide! I think I would have deleted the game pretty quickly without it but instead, I managed to 100% the game. At one point I rage quitted but other than that I have to admit that it was a rather pleasant experience. The table trophy was the one I hated the most.

You're welcome, well done on the completion. I thought the game was hilarious even when faced with stuff like that table challenge heh. I stopped doing these threads a while ago despite doing a few more 100% titles no one can be bothered going for so it's nice to see another one helped out years later. There is a dogshit VR1 title I'm slowly chipping away at that doesn't have any earners or interest right now. Maybe I'll make a thread for that when it's done to get my empty-for-years help thread quota back in balance. it's definitely nice to see this one has resulted in an earner & it's always a nice thing to see someone bothering with a 7+ hour 100% VR title as well. Próst!

The bowling thing seemed to be super easy, just throwing the ball down the lane underhand as you usually would and it'll strike with a high probability. For the car rental deposit shoot the car with a weapon through the window.

The biggest hurdle for me right now is stacking the tables. I see no way how to do it, as you can't even lift them up and they break before even moving an inch closer to another table, even with all chairs removed. Maybe you absolutely have to use tools, but I'll have to figure out which ones.

Becoming a real-life rock star sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Money, fame and and non-stop partying are excellent end goals, but when I was younger I quickly realised that to accomplish those goals I'd have to actually put the time in to learn an instrument. So I chucked that dream in the bin and just played videogames instead.

Lovely videogames have had my back though and subsequently I've earned millions in GTA Online, I've performed to packed arenas in Guitar Hero and now, thanks to Hotel R'n'R on PSVR, I've been able to fulfil my deepest of rock star desires by going on a hotel room trashing rampage.

Hotel R'n'R has been performing to smaller audiences in Early Access since 2019 but it's hoping to hit the big time when the full game goes on tour this coming Thursday 28th on both PC headsets and PSVR. While there's plenty of PC footage from the Early Access build out there, this week's Ian's VR Corner is one of the only places you'll be able to watch a big chunk of the PSVR build in action before launch.

The premise of Hotel R'n'R is pretty simple. You're a recently deceased, wannabe rock star who's sold their soul to the devil in return for fame and fortune. There's only one catch - to achieve this you'll first need to trash an assortment of hotel rooms around the world, without getting shot in the face by over enthusiastic hotel security guards.

In the video above, you'll be able to see me playing through the first 30 minutes of the PSVR build in a seated position. Thanks to a variety of control schemes and comfort settings, I was able to smash my way through the contents of two hotels quite easily, even though I suspect playing stood up is the best way to experience this game.

Unfortunately for a game all about picking things up, I did have a few issues with the grabbing mechanics as they often felt inconsistent, something that wasn't helped by the clumsiness of the mandatory dual Move controllers. Heavier objects don't feel quite right either, they feel rubbery and slippery in your hands and it was a source of frustration to me that I couldn't successfully throw a television more than a couple of inches in front of me. If you want to play a game that does VR weight well, Boneworks is a great choice and it could teach Hotel R'n'R a thing or too about giving objects heft without making them feel spongy.

Hotel R'n'R isn't meant to be a physics simulator though, it's meant to be a silly game about smashing things up and although I suspect the core gameplay will get old pretty fast, it is initially a hilarious experience that has a lot of replayability - especially if you're into unlocking extra tools of destruction like bats and guns.

If you want to unleash some pent up anger, having your own virtual rage room is a pretty good place to start and going on a rampage in Hotel R'n'R is definitely therapeutic. Just like last week's featured VR game Gorn, for me Hotel R'n'R feels more like a novelty experience rather than a full-fledged game, although it does seem like the perfect novelty experience to whip out at parties once we're finally allowed to have our mates around again.
