Upgrading to 4.1 from 3.4

Quick question - for a new instance (SOLR on a separate server, activating end-user interface)  I've decided to switch to Docker-based administration.  Can I just use Docker to install 4.1, then import the database to mysql as usual?  Still working out all the parts.

I'm only asking because this is a bit different from a straight migration.  I've never used Docker before.
