ArchivesSpace v4.2.0 now available
|
|
|
|
ArchivesSpace is announcing the availability of v4.2.0. You can download it from our
releases
page. Both our standard distribution and Docker distribution are available for this release.
This release contains bug fixes plus some small feature improvements. Bug fixes include correcting an issue with the download of the PDF on the public interface on mobile
devices and correcting an issue that prevented setting a user as inactive in the staff interface from some of the views. Small feature improvements include the addition of a configuration to set which fields are included when the Duplicate Resource functionality
in the staff interface is used and a new option to exclude URIs from PDFs downloaded from the staff interface. There are also a number of small fixes to improve accessibility, particularly for the public interface. We have also released an updated
VPAT for
this version.

ArchivesSpace membership renewals for FY26-27
|
|
|
|
Now that we’re well into 2026 and with another successful Virtual Member Forum behind us, we’re looking ahead to the next membership year for ArchivesSpace. We will
be sending out our renewal invoices for 2026-2027 to all current members at the beginning of May, unless a July 1 billing has been requested. While this timing is set to accommodate the growing number of requests for earlier invoicing in recent years, it is
not a problem if you prefer or need to pay closer to the July 1 start date of the term.
All invoices will go to both the Member Representative and the billing contact for your institution. All invoices will include a link to pay online, but we can also
receive payment by other methods including ACH transfer and check.
Thank you so much for your support of ArchivesSpace and all that it makes possible. We look forward to continuing to work with you this year and in the years to come
as well.

Last call! Volunteer for ArchivesSpace Governance groups
|
|
|
|
A reminder that the ArchivesSpace Nominating Committee is currently accepting nominations for openings on our three governance groups. All terms are for three years
and start July 1, 2026. Both self-nominations and nominations of others are welcome.
All nominations must be received by 9:00 p.m. EDT on April 30, 2026.
More information about these opportunities and the links to submit nominations are available on the ArchivesSpace blog:
Please note that staff from ArchivesSpace member institutions are eligible to serve on any of these groups. Non-members are eligible for the Technical Advisory Council
only.
Volunteers are so important to the vitality of ArchivesSpace, with community members contributing their time and energy to all aspects of the program. Getting involved
in ArchivesSpace governance is also a great way to learn more about the application and connect with other users, as
this
presentation and others from last month’s Virtual Member Forum highlighted. We hope you will consider giving back to the community in this way!

The ArchivesSpace Member Engagement sub-team is now
accepting
applications for the sixth cohort of the ArchivesSpace Member Match program.
The Member Match program is an initiative to engage individuals in the ArchivesSpace membership community, created and organized by the Member Engagement sub-team of
the ArchivesSpace User Advisory Council, with support from the ArchivesSpace Community Engagement Lead. The program is intended to be a resource and venue for peer-to-peer support between individuals working in ArchivesSpace member institutions.
For one year-long term Member Match participants will be matched with an individual member at another institution with whom they can receive and offer professional insight,
advice, and comradery. The program will also offer participants the opportunity to engage in exclusive events and enlightening discussions about ArchivesSpace and its active user community.
