The ArchivesSpace program team is working on a project to enhance ArchivesSpace support and documentation for ISAD(G), ISAAR (CPF), ISDF, and ISDIAH-compliant archival description. We are aiming to produce:
Clear documentation of which ArchivesSpace fields can be used to represent ISAD(G), ISAAR (CPF), and (if desired by a significant number of users or potential users) ISDF and ISDIAH-compliant description
Tooltips in the core code of the application and/or user documentation that include references to ISAD(G), ISAAR (CPF), and other ICA standard rules/elements (similar to current DACS references)
We are also interested in hearing ideas for other mappings, tools, or documentation that would support users outside the U.S. in implementing ArchivesSpace. The plan doesn't currently include any changes to ArchivesSpace functionality, fields, or import/export mappings, though if there is enough desire for updated functionality to better support ICA standards, this could be scoped in.
Proposed mappings for ICA standards are available here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1limTJPoYFId_RmMfdEQT6jTDZZZqVevcYTS58N-RLCE/edit?gid=2105569798#gid=2105569798).
We are seeking your feedback on these mappings, particularly if you create ICA standards-compliant description:
Join us at a feedback session in April to hear more about the mappings, discuss proposed changes to tooltips/user documentation, and share your thoughts:
