Samsung Smart Switch is the official Samsung program for transferring all the data on your Android smartphone to your new Samsung. Thanks to this wizard for Windows, transferring your information is fast, easy, and pretty convenient, too. All you need is a computer with WiFi, or, if you have one, a cable for hooking up your Android devices to your computer.
Using Samsung Smart Switch is super simple. All you have to do is make a backup copy of your Android smartphone, then connect your new Samsung smartphone to the computer. After that, you can choose what content you do and don't want to transfer: call history, videos, messages, images, ringtones, apps, and even alarms or WiFi connection data.
I am having the same problem. Smart switch tries to update "some components", but gets stuck on 100% download and never completes the update. I have unistalled and reinstalled several times on several different computers. I am not trying to backup my phone, I am trying to update my Galaxy s20 ultra that has been carrier umlocked and needs to be updated through smart switch.
I recently bought one of the new gen5 aeotech doorbells. This made a home-made doorbell i created redundant. I will now show you how i repurposed it as a switch to control whatever lights i wish in my bedroom.
The switch is installed and powered on. I have done a factory reset on it several times. It is connected currently to a port in the patch panel, through to my old Tenda 8 port dumb switch which will be removed once I have the GS running. The GS724T Gigabit Smart Switch shows a solid green light on the port (1) that is connected to the patch panel. From there it can get access to the DHCP server on my existing Netgear R6220 router. The router does not show this MAC address on the list of connected devices. My Windows 10 (fully updated) PC is also connected to the Tenda at the moment as is my son's PC, my wifes laptop via Wifi, a laser printer and a few smartphones.
On my PC I have installed the Smart Contrrol Centre. It shows the GS724T Gigabit Smart Switch as connected with it's Mac address and the default IP address. I have tried to connect to the switch using Chrome and Internet Explorer and I get the message "192.168.0.239 took too long to respond." I cannot ping the switch, all four packets time out. I have tried disabling Windows defender. I have no other anti virus software.
Since the GS724T switch is still in its default IP address which is 192.168.0.239 and at the same time connected to the existing network where your Windows 10 PC is also connected, you need to set a static IP Address on your Windows 10 PC that is within the IP range of your existing network in order for you to assign another IP address that is within the IP range of the default IP address of the GS724T switch.
6. On the IP Address section, click the Add button. Since the default IP address of the GS724T switch is 192.168.0.239, kindly enter 192.168.0.210 in the IP Address field and 255.255.255.0 in the Subnet Mask field.
7. Click the Add button.8. Click the Ok button on the Advanced TCP/IP Settings window. Then, click the Ok button on the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window. You may close other windows.
1. On your Windows 10 PC, open a browser like Google Chrome or Firefox then at the address bar of it, type 192.168.0.239 then press Enter. Login to the user interface of switch. Enter "admin" and "password" as the username and password respectively without the quotation marks.
I am so dumb. I have just seen the '0' and '1' in the IP addresses. However how can I get the address on the switch changed without changing the address of the PC? Must research this tonight but can anyone point me to a resource before then? (Hangs head in shame).

Hello everyone,
For some reason i cant reply to this topic:
-Mobile-Devices/Smart-Switch-Phone-gt-PC-Backup-not-working...
However, i have the same issue - and the information supplied in this topic is...... breaking my neural network upstairs if you know what i meen :).
Working in tech, saying that you should connect "SSD" instead of "PC" is... you have SSD or NvME drives in your PC today ofc.... so, "samsung ssd", do @notforhire meen "Samsung Magician" that is the PC software to manage your samsung drives ? (such as SSD and nvme). There are only one Samsung switch application in the store on mobile and thats 'Samsung Switch Mobile'.
So, back to the main issue - i have the exact same issue, having smart switch installed on PC (windows 11) downloaded from: -switch for PC (had to install it via CLI ( /S /Q/vn) -> but it works. It identifies my Samsung S22 Pro and then im stuck in the loop where it claims i have to update the software on the phone (which i do not, its the latest available).
Anyone else managed to resolve this?
"SSD" is not a solution btw as you can not connect a SSD drive to your smartphone unless you buy expensive converters (SATA to SSD). However, if SSD = Samsung Switch Desktop? then back to the main issue, i can start it on my PC np (link above) but it keeps looping on "update failed" when connecting mobile (after identifying it).
Yes, Samsung Smart Switch Mobile lets you transfer all your data from a smartphone from any manufacturer to a Samsung smartphone. That data can include apps, contacts, call logs, messages, photos, videos, and any other content you have on your device.
Smart switch for Windows saying to Update the Smart Switch app on the connected device. When I am clicking "Update Smart Switch" it tries to update but failed. My app is already updated from Google play store. I then uninstall the app and reinstalled from Galaxy Store. Still the Software saying to update the app on the connected device. My phone is detected by Windows and I can browse my phone storage using File Explorer. But it is not connecting to the Smart Switch Software. My phone model is Galaxy A52 (SM-A525F/DS). The software worked with my phone just two days ago, when the app has not any updates in play store. After installing new version (3.7.42.12), it is not working.
After your devices are paired, you can use Microsoft Bluetooth Ergonomic Mouse to automatically switch between screens on different devices. Just move your mouse cursor to the edge of your screen, then use your mouse on another screen on another PC.
If you already have a Galaxy smartphone like the Galaxy S21, you might have used the mobile version of Smart Switch to transfer your content to your new device. Whether for a single user, small business or large company, Smart Switch makes it easy to upgrade from iOS to Galaxy devices, with no IT support needed.
Once you have this switch, you can connect it with Amazon Alexa(Amazon echo/dot/tap) or Google Assistant for voice control. Use Alexa and Google home smart speakers to control window switch with simple words to free hands, use your voice to control the connected devices easily.
