I was tempted to pick up a 3 pack of smart outlets by Prime at Costco. The product information is pretty thin, but I am wondering if I could get them to work with HA? Has anyone opened one up? Are they built with the ESP8266 and so flashable with Tasmota?
Looks like a bunch of the prime devices are listed in the official Tasmota compatibility database too. I have a two pack of the outdoor dual plugs on the way. About $8/outlet ($16 / dual outlet device) CAD before tax on their website. Should be even cheaper locally if available. Looking forward to flashing them.
Hi. I have attempted to flash "Prime Smart Outlet Outdoor Plug (CCWFIO232PK) dated 8/20 with frustrating unsuccess with serial port. But can not get it into flashing mode. The unit has 7 pin holes which I have as 1-blank, 2-GND, 3-TX, 4-RX, 5-33V, 6-i00, 7-R?T which I assume are correct. I am using DSD Tech SH-U09C5 FTDI FT232RL which I have tested to TX and RX. It also supplies 3.3V to the PCB. The serial port is configured with baud 9600, Data bit 8, Parity none, Stop bits 1, Flow control as none.
I followed the instruction on -Started/#after-configuration. I checked all Dupont cable connections but, nothing doing. What am I missing?
I do remember that the labels for the header seemed to be off. The first label on the left, either GND or 33V, was shifted. It looked like the label applied to the second header from the left, when it actually applied to the header on the far left. I used a multimeter to check connectivity from another labelled pin on the board to confirm I had the right header. The other labels seemed to line up correctly.
Thanks for the assistance, The connections look correct by following the circuit board and matching it to the esp8285 chip diagram. I tried both outlet units with the same inability to get into flashing mode or get a connection. Maybe forced to use these with the Tuya integration.
I am logging in to smart account, creating token and using that token to license my PI, but it keep page unresponsive for 2 - 3 times and after that showing "Registration Failed due to connectivity failure". Tried to test the connectivity by editing home setting but it is showing success, but licensing does not work. Help me on this.
we have a Prime Infrastructure (Build 3.9.0.0.219) server running. I would like to switch from traditional licensing to smart licensing but no matter what I try, I always get the "Registration failed due to connection error" message after 1-2 minutes, when I try to register the server.
I already tried all 3 options under Administration -> System Settings -> Account Settings -> Smart Licensing Transport. When I use a proxy server and test the connection over "Test Connectivity" it says that the connection to the Cisco server and to the smart licensing server is successful but the registration with the Registration Token still fails.
I also tried to use our On-Prem SSM server with the "Transport Gateway" option, but the behaviour is even more strange then. When I enter the URL as " the connection test is successful, but if I am not wrong thats not a valid URL. From my understanding I have to enter the Smart Call Home Registration URL which would be " " for me, but if I enter this one the connection test gives me the error "Method not allowed". With both URLs the registration fails with the same error.
Regarding to the bug CSCvt19769 there are more people with the "Method not allowed" message, but they are still able to register the Prime Infrastructure server. For me the registration doesnt work and its always the same error "Registration failed due to connection error".
There is no firewall blocking the connection and the On-Prem SSM server is even on the same vlan than my Prime Infrastructure server and they are connected to the same switch, so there is nothing in between that could cause a connection problem.
I also tried to have a look at the log files, but the only entries regarding the error I was able to find were in the "ifm_smartagent.log" file. Those didnt really help me. I attached a text file with the error.

So, I just got a new Smart TV for the AirBnB guest room. I have Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime accounts that they can peruse. My issue is that, on my Amazon Prime account, guests are completely able to rent and buy movies and TV shows without my prior consent or knowledge.
Just an FYI: It is against Amazon & Netflix's TOS' (terms of service) to use their residential accounts in a business setting (which AirBnB most certainly is...as for instance many many jourisdictions make you pay hotel/occupancy taxes, for instance) Taxation is not the only thing Amazon/Netflix consider in this situation - but it's just an FYI. They *can* and *will* terminate you if they find out.
I've had this issue. Just had guests charge $50 of porn on my Amazon Prime and then skip out without paying. Seems that you cannot set a PIN that disallows purchases only. The PIN disallows viewing period. So putting in the PIN disables Amazon Prime basically. I still have Netflix which doesn't seem to lure people into buying stuff as frequently as Amazon Prime and offers a wider variety of "free" content. But resetting to factory settings each time might be the way to go. There is really no easy solution for smart TV use in an Airbnb I feel.

If you're an Amazon Prime user, you're probably familiar with all of the streaming service's movies, TV shows, and original content. But did you know you can watch Amazon Prime Video on a smart TV? In this article, we'll show you how to watch Amazon Prime Video on your smart TV.
Amazon Prime Video is a video streaming service that comes with your membership to Amazon Prime. It includes movies, TV shows and original content from Amazon Studios. It's available on most devices including computers, tablets, smartphones and Smart TVs.
Amazon Prime Video is available on any device that supports the Amazon App Store or has the Amazon Video app installed. You can also cast content from your phone to other devices using an HDMI connector, Wi-Fi connection and Miracast/Airplay technology.
You can cast Amazon Prime Video to your TV by installing the mobile app, which is available for iOS and Android. Once you've installed it on your phone, open it up and tap or click the Cast icon at the top of the screen. On an iPhone or iPad, this will be in the top right corner; on an Android device, it's likely to be in a box that appears when you pull down from the top menu bar of whatever app you're using (if there isn't one already).
Once you've tapped or clicked to initiate casting, select which device on which you want to watch Amazon Prime (for example "TCL Mini LED TV" if that's what your TV is called). Then choose whether or not you want to cast over wireless network connections as opposed to just through HDMI cables (which aren't always convenient). Your content should start streaming immediately!
First, open up the browser on your computer and navigate to Amazon.com/Video. Then, click "Streaming Devices" in the left sidebar menu and select which streaming device you want (for example Apple TV).
Next, click on the "Cast" button at the top right corner of your screen. This will bring up a list of available devices for you to choose from; select which one you want and then select whether or not you want to cast over wireless network connections. Your content should start streaming immediately!
Chromecast is a media streaming device that plugs into your TV's HDMI port and allows you to play video from your smartphone or tablet on the big screen. You can also stream online content directly to Chromecast through supported apps like Netflix, HBO NOW and Hulu.
You must cease casting to the device in order to update the subtitle settings on Chromecast for iOS. Then choose a style for your subtitles under Settings > Accessibility > Subtitles and Captioning > Style. When a title is being cast on an Android smartphone, tap the three-dot menu that appears on the screen. Turn on Show captions and choose Subtitle styles. From that menu, you can also choose the caption's size and style.

I have a Samsung Model UN55MU6300F Smart TV. Lately my Amazon Prime Video app has stopped working. I either get a perpetual loading symbol followed by an "Insufficient bandwith" message, or if I click a series I've been watching, it does not respond and will not play. I had to update my Amazon password recently, but that made no difference until now. I'm at my wits end and ave to watch it now on my laptop instead. Could it be that my smart TV isn't entering the new password, and if so, how can I update it?
This has been going on for a couple of weeks now and is extremely frustrating. I have a $1000 smat TV with the Prime Video app, but it doesn't work and I have to watch Prime Video on my laptop. All the other apps work, just not Prime Video. I've followed all the suggestions, reset the smart hub a couple of times, changed the DNS from automatic to 8.8.8.8, unplugged the TV for30 seconds, made sure it's the latest software update, clicked Reinstall on the app. Nothing works. We even have an older Samsung smart TV, Model UN50H5203AF, in a location with a weaker WiFi signal and Prime Video works on that one. But it has stopped working on this newer TV.
