Hi all. I have an Optiplex 3010 system with Windows 10 installed. (Came with 7 but I upgraded in the free upgrade period). It has integrated Intel Graphics, and I would like to reset all settings to Factory defaults as part of troubleshooting. But when I uninstall the software from Programs and features or directly from the device manager selecting the option to delete the driver, when I reinstall with the software from Dell, or letting Windows install automatically it installs with the settings that it previously had, it never resets. Is there a way to make a Brand new installation deleting automatically all previous settings? Like a Factory reset install? I even used DDU but same thing after reinstall. Thanks.
Thanks for the answer, but I already tried this before posting and didn't worked. For example, before, I had the system tray icon for the Intel Graphics closed, and after uninstall and reinstall, it would still be closed among other settings that would still be the same. I got it fixed my mistake, by unintalling the driver in Programs and Features, and then allowing Windows to install the version it considered. It seems to have all settings at default again.
Sorry for the delayed response. So far the problem hasn't occurred again and I didn't try reverting the driver version back from version 4973 to 4944 yet. It seems the problem doesn't affect most software,
My problem with this update 23.20.16.4973 is that today is 9/15/18 and I have the latest driver from Intel already: 24.20.100.6286, but I don't understand why windows 10 is still trying to push this outdated update to me. Even though it seems i don't have to install it, the reminder is outthere. can you guys pls talk to microsoft to disable such reminder? thx
In the past I installed, among the optional updates, the Intel 31.0.101.4502 driver which was causing a big problem on my external monitor(HDMI) by no longer going to show so many resolutions(including the correct one) but stops at the standard ones: 1920x1080 , 1280x720 , 1024x768 and 800x600 while my monitor uses 3968x2976.
Resolved by uninstalling that update.
So if you could script this process at Windows Boot time, Disable the HD graphics card and Enable it, the HDMI output or DVI output should enable. If Intel can figure out why this trick works and fix the driver, then I would be happy.
I, in the year 2020, have the same kind of issue. I have an AMD card HD 7450 and the Intel HD 4000 on board. It in an HP/Compaq Pro 6300 i7 system with 12 gig ram SSD HD etc. I have 2 mon. on the AMD and one on the Intel. Every time my system goes to sleep or is locked etc, the power saving on the 3rd monitor, a Hannspree, connected with an VGA cable, turns it off., that is OK and can't be disabled. But then, after I have logged back on, and turn the monitor on, which the display settings see and acts like it has done its job, either before I log back in or after, does not matter which, I have to disable then enable the Intel driver to get the system to extend the desktop to the 3rd monitor. Needless to say that is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE IN THE YEAR 2020. This problem has been around since 2012 according to this batch of complaints. THERE IS ZERO EXCUSE FOR THIS NOT BEING FIXED!!!!!!!! DO BLAME IT ON AMD OR MICROSOFT UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO DO SO VERY VERY PUBLICLY AND ARE GOING TO SUE THEM TO MAKE THEM FIX IT. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR COMPANIES WITH YOUR WEALTH TO BE PUTTING OUT SUCH JUNK FOR OVER 8 YEARS!!!!! NO EXCUSE FOR THIS STILL GOING ON. I HAVE THE LATEST DRIVERS SO NO EXCUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON WITH OUT A PROPER SOLUTION FOR WAY TO LONG WHAT INCOMPETENCE OR GREED THAT THIS HAS NOT BEEN PERMANENTLY FIXED FOR EVER!!!!!!!
Thanks to all who can help with a REAL FIX, not a script to disable/enable the driver, I can do that, what I cannot do is re-write the driver code that should have the permanent fix in it. That is for Intel to do, AND THERE IS ZERO EXCUSE FOR NOT HAVING ALREADY DONE SO!!!!!!
Actually it is standard VGA driver works after the driver is installed and before reboot. Intel driver is invoked after reboot in the moment when login screen appears. This is why everybody get black screen after windows boot. When Intel driver gets active hdmi output fails.
I've been struggling to get a new PC up and running for a relative - its rocking a Haswell chipset with an Intel HD4600, and I'm trying to connect up a Hazro HZ27WC monitor via DVI. Sadly I'm finding that I can't get it running, either as a primary or secondary display. As described i this thread I get some activity during boot up, but then it does black. When setup as secondary, its just shown as "Digital" with the resolution and settings greyed out.
It appears there is a known solution for this problem, embedded in the latest drivers. I won't try to post the link (that seems to blow up the forum submission sequence) but I found references to the latest drivers at Dell (where I had purchased the system with the problem) and several other locations.
I too am having the same problem. i7 4770K with gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3. Works fine on DVI with NO Intel HD driver loaded (Using Microsoft basic display driver). Poor performance but works with good colour.
Someone on another forum suggested a solution - load up the Windows7 monitor driver so that DVI monitor is correctly described in Device Manager (rather than just as 'Generic Plug & Play'). This did work for me (the first 2 monitors I tried only had support for 2000/XP, but 3rd one was a more recent model). In the past, when I bought a new monitor I immediately chucked the included CD in the wastebin as I couldn't see the point!
I upgraded to to Graphics Installer 1.0.6 on my Ubuntu 14.04 and installed the drivers using the Intel Graphics Installer. The laptop is Intel Ivybridge powered with Intel HD graphics. It Optimus but I have disabled the Nvidia card in bios. The Intel Graphics Installer installs the package i915-3.15-3.13-dkms.deb which I assume is the updated driver. It causes a bunch of error messages when I boot. Here are the relevant errors from dmesg when I boot:
I was using intel-graphics-driver until 1.0.5 with no problem. I have updated to 1.0.6 and I started to have problems. No image at all. I see now that this drivers are not compatible with low latency kernel (funny it worked before)Uninstalled drivers and now I don't know how to fix it. Running on failsafe mode now.
I had this problem and when I finally managed to get to desktop I run Synaptic Package Manager (the old abandoned friend:-)), selected "Origin" from filters, clicked the intel repo (download. 01.org) and then forced every package from the list to downgrade to trusty version. Rebooted, disabled the repo altogether and voila - all reverted back to not-crappy version from before the mess :-)
I am running Adobe's Creative Cloud - Premiere Pro, the most recent version and the Intel HD Graphics 5000 is not compatible anymore. Is there a way to force update SP3 to Intel's provided one on their site? Microsoft keeps saying I have the latest driver - which is dated way back 2016!
Now I'm wondering of some of these can be deleted as there's no way that all these drivers are needed. They all seem to be the same version however, so none can be flagged as obsolete. Anyone has any idea if some of them can be cleared?
I have the PE70 6QD which has an integrated Intel HD display card and a Geforce GTX950M, that explains why there are both Intel and NVIDIA drivers in the list. The Intel card is used for low power general purpose and the NVIDIA card is used for high graphics demands like Video editing and 3D processing.
The bug occurred after Windows Update installed Intel display driver version 27.20.100.8682. After reversing the driver update to version 27.20.100.7989 by choosing a Windows restore point (not the fastest way to do this ;)) Darktable behaved normally. I used the Windows Update troubleshooter to block further driver updates.
It's a long story why I want to do what's in the title, but here it goes. I recently bought a new set of speakers (Edifier R1280DB) for my monitor (BenQ Ew3270U). I have 2 laptops & FireTV Stick connected to the monitor via a KVM Switch. Both laptop's inbuilt speakers use realtek driver, thus support loudness equalization. My monitor's speakers use Intel Display Audio, thus don't support loudness equlisation. I simply cannot stand to use any speaker without loudness equalization as I have to change the volume too often between videos. I can use Bluetooth to connect my laptop to edifier speakers, but then, the switching process won't be seamless. Before I switch laptops, I must disconnect the speaker from one device, switch then reconnect, no multipoint here sadly. So to avoid this, I thought of just connecting the headphone jack of speakers to my monitor. But like I said, the built in drivers of my monitor i.e. Intel Display Audio simply do not support loudness equalization. Thus, I'm stuck with this problem.
Thanks a lot for your reply. I believe NVidia Card has the latest drivers installed (I use a software for it and I've checked that my installed version corresponds with the latest release). Nonetheless, you are probably right about the Intel one. I downloaded the latest ones but when I try to install them, Windows tells me that the latest ones are already installed and does not let me continue. Any ideas of how can I force Windows to let me upgrade the drivers?
Hello all, I recently did a fresh install of windows 10 and after that my computer kept crashing to a blue screen and giving me the error code WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. I spoke with someone on the Microsoft forums, and he analyzed the DMP file produced by the blue screen crash. He then said that it was caused by my graphics driver. I completely uninstalled it using the DDU application and reinstalled the driver straight from Intel. The problem unfortunately still persist. Right now I have my Intel display driver disabled and the computer is working fine (apart from low graphical performance). If I re-enable the driver through device manager, my laptop will crash almost immediately. I will put information about my system below. Thank you in advance for any help.
