This is the inaugural message on this site. A site that we hope will
promote Hamilton area artists around the globe and well into the
future. We will not be relying on theme exhibits and want to promote
the artists body of work as a context of its own.
The name nomad has been chosen for a few reasons.
1. The most obvious is the art is meant to move around the globe.
2. The definition of a nomad as someone who has a large territory as
opposed to one who travels seems fitting to our purpose and helps to
define us a global.
3. To reflect upon Deleuze and Guattari's understandings of nomadic
thought. A thought that is unhindered by codifications and prescribed
meanings.

It is hoped that this site will provide a bed with which to plant and
nurture the seeds of our destiny as artists. In order to plant these
seeds perhaps we should be starting with questions. Answers are always
problematic in the boundaries that they set up.

Lets fill up the pot with members first. Stir it with questions.
And as it stews it will result in the freedom of expression we all so
desperately need.
WORKING TOWARD A LARGER AUDIENCE FOR US ALL

Question:
On going global

Would Hamilton area Artists think it was valuable to have a website
that was exclusive to area artists and featured, equally, any artist
in the region that wanted to be included in it? Each individual who
wanted to be part of this would have to contribute money to make it
happen. I would estimate that it would be between $100. - $200. per
person if there are enough people interested. The more people involved
the less it would cost per person. If somehow an excess of money was
accumulated (god forbid, & jesus, mary, and joseph) it could be put
towards the annual costs of hosting and the domain name.
